About your trip

A retreat for beginner or early career writers of short stories, journals, novellas and novels, interested in producing fiction and non-fiction.

This course leads participants through the essentials of the craft from characterization and plotting to dialogue and editing towards an enhanced understanding of how novels and short stories are created, giving avid readers and beginner writers the skills and confidence to turn of love of the written word into practical habit

The course will included time to write alone, read aloud in a supportive group, receive one-to-one feedback all amidst the spectacular beauty of Iona - what more could one ask for as a source of inspiration to allow you to connect with your creativity.

There will also be an optional workshop with a qualified hypnotherapist studying writer's block and the functioning of the brain in the creative process
