Daily Itenary

Day 1: Arrival in Poros & Warm-up Ride (D:~20–25 km – Elev. g: ~400 m)

Arrive on Poros Island, meet your guide, and set up your bikes. Safety Briefing.
Enjoy an easy warm-up loop around the island, passing Askeli Beach, the Temple of Poseidon viewpoint, and the scenic hills above the harbor.
Relax and unwind with a welcome dinner by the sea.
Overnight: Poros

Day 2: Poros → Methana Peninsula Loop (D:~ 75 km – Elev.g: 1247 m)

Take the short ferry across to Galatas and ride north toward Methana.
Climb to the volcanic village of Kameni Chora, visit the famous crater, and descend along the coast through fishing villages and thermal springs.
Return to Poros in the afternoon for a well-deserved rest.
Highlights: Methana Volcanic sights, quiet roads, sea views.
Overnight: Poros

Day 3: Poros → Thermisia → Karantzas → Galatas , Poros (D:~ 96.6 km – Elev.g: 1947 m)

Ride through the coastal roads of Thermissia and Koilada toward , one of the most elegant seaside towns of the Peloponnese.
Evening free to explore Poros town.
Highlights: Coastal villages

Day 4: Ancient Epidaurus (D:~ 92.8 km – Elev.g: 1413 m)

Ride inland via Trizina and Lygourio to reach the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, one of the greatest masterpieces of ancient Greece.
Guided visit of the archaeological site and lunch nearby.
Highlights: Ancient Epidaurus, cultural heritage, scenic countryside.
Overnight: Poros

Day 5: Departure from Poros

Breakfast and departure at leisure.
Optional morning swim or coffee by the harbor before taking the ferry back to Piraeus or your next destination.

How to reach Poros

Poros is one of the most easily accessible islands in Greece — just a short trip from Athens! Whether you prefer to travel by sea, by car, or even privately, there are several convenient ways to reach this beautiful island of the Saronic Gulf after you land at Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos).

 Option 1: Ferry or High-Speed from Piraeus Port
The most popular and straightforward route.
Step 1: Airport → Piraeus Port
Metro (Line 3): Direct connection from the airport to Piraeus. ~65 minutes |  ~9 €
Airport Bus X96: 24-hour service, runs directly to the port. ~75–90 minutes |  ~5.50 €
Taxi or Private Transfer: ~45–60 minutes |  ~40–50 €

Step 2: Piraeus → Poros

 Total travel time: ~2.5–3 hours Best for: Travelers without a car who want a fast, easy transfer.


 Option 2: Drive or Transfer to Galatas (Peloponnese Mainland)
A scenic and flexible route, perfect if you want to explore more of the Peloponnese.
Step 1: Airport → Galatas (via Corinth & Epidaurus)
Distance: ~180 km
 Drive time: ~2.5 hours
 Car rental: ~40–60 €/day | Private transfer: ~180–200 €

Step 2: Galatas → Poros
Short ferry crossing (every 30 minutes) 5 minutes |  ~1 € per person | ~8–10 € per car

 Total travel time: ~3 hours Best for: Those who wish to have a car on the island or plan to tour the Peloponnese.


 Option 3: Private Transfer or Sea Taxi
The most comfortable, door-to-door option.Combine a private van from the airport to the coast with a private speedboat directly to Poros.
 ~2 hours total |  From ~350 € (2–4 people) Ideal for families, small groups, or guests with bikes and luggage.


 Option 4: Rent a Car from the Airport
Rent a car directly at Athens International Airport and enjoy a beautiful drive through the Peloponnese to Galatas. Then take the 5-minute ferry across to Poros. Perfect for freedom and flexibility. Note: Parking space on the island is limited during summer.

Ferries between Galatas and Poros run frequently all day, even late at night in summer.
The port of Poros is right in the heart of the town.
Always book your Piraeus–Poros tickets in advance during peak season.
Combine your arrival with a short stopover in Nafplio for a perfect start to your cycling adventure.
