Starting from the charming town of Kalamata, you’ll ride along scenic coastal roads and rolling countryside, visiting some of the most iconic fortresses in the region.

Day 1: Kalamata – Pylos – Methoni (D:63.8 km – Elev.g: 832m)
A coastal – cultural ride from Kalamata to Pylos and Methoni , combining scenic seaside roads with a historic castle to castle tour through the region’s iconic medieval fortresses.
Day 2: Methoni – Koroni – Kalamata (D: 78.2 km – Elev.g:1038m)
A beautiful coastal loop from Methoni to Koroni and back to Kalamata., following quiet seaside roads, traditional villages, and panoramic views of he Messinian Gulf
Day 3: Kalamata – Areopoli (D: 81 km – Elev.g: 1501m)
A striking transition ride from Kalamata to Areopoli moving from fertile Messinian lowlands into the rugged limestone landscapes of the Deep Mani along serene , winding backroads.
Day 4: Areopoli – Gythio – Monemvasia (D: 92.6 km – Elev, g: 996m)
An adventurous coastal ride from Areopoli to Gythio and onward to Monemvasia , tracing the Mani and Laconia shores with dramatic sea views and charming historic towns.
Day 5: Monemvasia – Leonidio (D100.8 km – Elev.g: 1868m)
Scenic journey from Monemvasia to Leonidio, following quiet coastal and mountain roads, passing traditional villages and dramatic cliffs along the eastern Peloponnese coastline.
Day 6: Leonidio – Nafplio (D: 80.5 km – Elev.g: 1026m)
A rewarding ride from Leonidio to Nafplio descending from the eastern Peloponnesian mountains through olive groves and picturesque villages before reaching the historic Argolic coast.

Day 7: Departure from Nafplio.
How to Get to Kalamata
Kalamata is easily accessible and well connected, offering several travel options depending on your location and preferred way of transport. Below you will find the main ways to reach the city before starting your cycling adventure.
1. By Air — Kalamata International Airport (KLX)
Kalamata International Airport operates seasonal direct flights from various European cities, mostly from April to October. This is the fastest and most convenient option for many international visitors.Transfer time from the airport to the city center is approximately 15–30 minutes.
2. Via Athens International Airport (ATH)
Most travelers arrive in Greece through Athens. From there, you have several easy options to reach Kalamata:
a) Car Rental or Private Transfer
Driving from Athens to Kalamata takes around 2.5–3 hours (approximately 240 km). The route is almost entirely highway, offering a smooth and comfortable trip. This is ideal for guests bringing their own bikes or those who prefer flexibility during travel.
b) Intercity Bus (KTEL)
Frequent buses operate from Athens (Kifisos Bus Station) to Kalamata. The journey takes about 3–3.5 hours and is a reliable and economical choice.
c) Domestic Flights
Occasionally, domestic flights may operate between Athens and Kalamata, depending on season and availability. However, most travelers prefer the road options due to similar total travel time.
3. Minibus or Taxi Transfer
Private minibus and taxi transfers are available both from Athens and from Kalamata Airport.This option offers door-to-door service, flexibility with luggage and bike bags, and is especially convenient for small groups, families, or travelers arriving with cycling equipment.
4. By Car from Other Peloponnese Cities
Kalamata is well connected by road with the rest of the Peloponnese. Driving is straightforward and a great way to enjoy the region’s landscapes before beginning your cycling tour.

Bringing Your Own Bike: Airline bike policies vary, so it is important to check bicycle transport rules before booking your ticket.
Transporting Bikes by Bus: Space on buses can be limited, so contacting the bus operator in advance is recommended.
