This Impact Expedition is designed to experience Guatemala at its fullest—vibrant culture, dramatic landscapes, rich history, and meaningful connection.

You’ll travel through iconic regions, exploring colorful towns, volcanic scenery, local markets, and food that tells a story. Along the way, you’ll take part in a hands-on community project, building a smokeless oven for a family in need—intentionally woven into the adventure.

For those who want to go further, an optional four-day add-on takes you deep into the jungle to Semuc Champey, home to turquoise pools, waterfalls, and caves. The add-on journey wraps up in Antigua with the option to choose from 1) MTBing at Carmona Trails Bike Park or 2) participate in a local cooking class, offering a flavorful, cultural finish to the expedition.

4 Day Add-on: Semuc Champey

Hidden deep in Guatemala’s jungle, Semuc Champey is a stunning natural oasis of turquoise limestone pools cascading above the Cahabón River. Surrounded by dense rainforest, it’s a remote, immersive experience—perfect for swimming, exploring, and soaking in one of the country’s most unforgettable landscapes. The journey concludes back in Antigua, where you can choose to either ride Carmona Trails Bike Park or participate in a local cooking class, offering a flavorful, cultural finish to your expedition

Swim and relax in the turquoise limestone pools of Semuc Champey

  • Jungle hike to panoramic viewpoints overlooking the pools and river

October 29 - TRANSFER TO SEMUC CHAMPEY

Morning | Travel Day Begins
Depart Guatemala City or a nearby town (depending on arrival the day before) and begin the scenic journey toward Semuc Champey. The drive winds through rural highlands and jungle landscapes.

Afternoon | Arrival in the Jungle
Arrive at Greengo's Hotel in the afternoon and get settled into this remote jungle oasis. Take in sweeping views of the surrounding hills and river below.

Evening | Relax & Unwind
Enjoy a relaxed evening poolside, soaking in the atmosphere and preparing for a full adventure day ahead.

October 30 - SEMUC CHAMPEY ADVENTURE DAY

Morning | Jungle Adventure Begins
Head out mid-morning for a full day of adventure at Semuc Champey, starting with an exhilarating cave exploration through an underground river system.

Afternoon | Waterfalls, Pools & River Fun
Continue the adventure with rope swings into the river, cliff jumping near waterfalls, tubing downstream, and a hike to the iconic viewpoint overlooking the turquoise pools. Spend the afternoon swimming and relaxing in the natural limestone pools.

Evening | Return to Greengo's
Return to Greengo's Hotel for your final night in the jungle. Dinner and downtime after an unforgettable day.

October 31 - TRANSFER TO ANTIGUA

Morning | Departure from Semuc Champey
Depart the jungle and begin the journey back toward Antigua.

Afternoon | Scenic Stops Along the Way
Enjoy planned stops along the route to stretch, grab food, and take in local scenery as you transition from jungle landscapes to colonial highlands.

Evening | Arrival in Antigua
Arrive in Antigua and settle in for a relaxed evening in the city.

Today you’ll choose how you want to experience Antigua—through food and culture or one final adrenaline-filled ride.

Option 1 | Antigua Culinary Immersion

  • Morning | Cooking Class – Join a hands-on cooking class led by local chefs, learning traditional Guatemalan recipes and techniques.

  • Afternoon | Guided Food Tour – Explore Antigua through its flavors with a guided food tour, sampling regional dishes, street food, and local specialties.

  • Evening | Free Time in Antigua – Relax or explore the city at your own pace after a flavorful day.

Option 2 | MTB at Carmona Trails

  • Morning | Transfer to Carmona Trails – Head outside Antigua to Carmona Trails for a full day of riding.

  • Afternoon | Party Laps & Flow Trails – Spend the day riding flowy, purpose-built trails with shuttle support, optional jumps, and endless party laps.

  • Evening | Return to Antigua – Return to Antigua for a relaxed evening after an epic day on the bike.

November 2 - COMMUNITY IMPACT PROJECT

Morning | Breakfast & Departure to Project
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel before heading to the day’s impact project. Prepare for a hands-on, skills-based opportunity to support a local economic initiative in the Antigua area.

Daytime | Community Service Project
From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, participate alongside local partners in a meaningful project designed to create long-term opportunity for the community. Exact project details are pending, but expect engaging, collaborative work that leaves a tangible impact.

Evening | Antigua Exploration & Dinner
Return to Antigua and spend the evening strolling through the vibrant town square. Explore local markets, artisan shops, and historical streets before gathering for a group dinner at a local restaurant to reflect on the day’s accomplishments.

November 3 - VOLCANO ACATENANGO OVERNIGHT

Morning | Travel to Acatenango

After breakfast, depart Antigua and travel to Impact Project site (project details coming soon). Lunch will be provided.

Afternoon | 4x4 Ascent & Hike to Volcano Camp

After lunch, load into 4x4 vehicles for an off-road ride up Acatenango. From there, hike approximately 30 minutes to A-frame cabins overlooking the valley with direct views of Volcano Fuego’s ongoing eruptions.

Evening | Dinner & Volcano Views

Settle into camp with dinner and warm drinks as darkness falls. Spend the evening watching Volcano Fuego illuminate the night sky before resting for an early start.

November 4 - VOLCANO DECENT + IXIMCHE RUINS

Morning | Sunrise Hike to Fuego & Descent

Wake early for a guided sunrise hike toward Volcano Fuego for an up-close view of its active eruptions. Return to camp for coffee and breakfast, then descend Acatenango back to the drop-off point by 4x4.

Afternoon | Mayan Cuisine & Iximché Ruins

Travel to the town of Tecpán for an authentic Mayan lunch at Restaurant XeJun. Continue on to a guided visit of the Iximché Mayan Ruins, a sacred national monument still used by local Mayan communities for ceremonies and offerings.

Evening | Arrival at Lake Atitlán

Shuttle approximately 1.5 hours to Lake Atitlán, then transfer by private boat to your lakeside lodging. Settle in and enjoy the evening along the shore of the world-renowned crater lake.

November 5 -LAKE ATITLAN ADVENTURE DAY

Morning | Choose Your Lake Adventure
Wake up to breathtaking views of Lake Atitlán, framed by the volcanoes Atitlán, Tolimán, and San Pedro. After breakfast, choose how you want to spend the morning:

  • Quetzal birdwatching in the lush highlands

  • Ziplining through the forest canopy with panoramic lake views

  • Paragliding above the lake for an unforgettable aerial perspective

  • Jet skiing and optional cliff jumping for a dose of adrenaline

Afternoon | Lakeside Leisure
Enjoy a relaxed afternoon around the lake—swimming, wandering nearby villages, or soaking in the views at the hotel.

Evening | Rest & Relaxation
Return to the hotel for a laid-back evening. Unwind, enjoy dinner, and take in the sunset over the lake.
