4-day Mount Kenya Trek via Sirimon Route takes you to the 2nd highest mountain in Africa through the Sirimon route on the North West side near Nanyuki. This side is dry and offers good trekking conditions. The trek starts from Nairobi to Sirimon Gate (2,650m) and continues through forest to Old Moses Camp (3,300m). The hike goes on through moorland to Shipton Camp (4,200m) with views of wildlife and plants. An early morning hike leads to Lenana Point (4,985m) for sunrise, then descent to Old Moses Camp. The trek ends with descent to Sirimon Gate and return to Nairobi.
