About your trip

The Iceland Reset is a 10-day experience designed to help you slow down, recharge, and reconnect through nature, movement, and simplicity. Based in the quiet fjord-side setting of Hjalteyri, this journey takes you off the beaten path and away from crowds, into a calmer, more authentic rhythm of life. Each day blends gentle activity—such as scenic coastal walks, light hikes, and optional whale watching—with time to rest, restore, and enjoy the surroundings at your own pace. Guests can unwind with cold dips, geothermal bathing, and optional massage treatments, while evenings are centered around nourishing, locally sourced meals at Eyri. With minimal travel between locations and a focus on balance rather than intensity, this experience is not about doing more—but about feeling better.

Program

Welcome to the Iceland Reset,

I’m really glad you’re here. This experience is something I’ve built from a place I know well and care deeply about—where life moves a little slower, the air feels cleaner, and it’s easier to reconnect with what actually matters. Over the next 10 days, my goal is simple: to give you the space to step away from the noise, settle into a natural rhythm, and leave feeling better than when you arrived.

There’s no pressure here. You can be as active or as relaxed as you like—whether that’s joining a walk along the fjord, taking a cold dip, or just sitting with a coffee and looking out over the water. We’ll share great meals, spend time outdoors, and experience this part of Iceland in a way that feels real and unforced.

This isn’t about doing more. It’s about slowing down enough to actually feel the place—and yourself—again.

Welcome,
Nik

Arrival to Iceland

Welcome to Iceland

Your journey begins with a gentle early morning arrival at Keflavík, where you’ll be met and brought into the calm rhythm of the experience from the very start. Rather than rushing, the day unfolds slowly in Reykjavík, with a relaxed walking and culinary introduction to the city—an easy way to move, breathe, and ease into your surroundings after travel. Along the way, you’ll taste local flavors and get a feel for everyday Icelandic life before continuing to the beautifully designed Perlan Museum, where nature, light, and landscape are brought together in a calm and immersive setting. The day is intentionally light and unhurried, allowing you to settle in, reset your pace, and gently transition into the experience ahead.

Day 2-3

Edge of Silence West Fjords

Departing from Reykjavík, the journey to Djúpavík takes approximately 5–6 hours, unfolding as a scenic drive through changing landscapes—each kilometer bringing a greater sense of space and stillness. Rather than feeling like a transfer, the drive itself becomes part of the reset, with quiet pauses along the way and time to take in the raw beauty of Iceland.

Upon arrival, the pace shifts noticeably. Djúpavík is isolated, peaceful, and deeply atmospheric—a place where distractions fall away naturally. During your stay, you’ll explore the historic herring factory, a striking reminder of the area’s past, now standing quietly within the fjord. A visit to the remote Krossneslaug offers a unique opportunity to bathe in warm geothermal waters overlooking the open ocean, blending restoration with the surrounding wild landscape.

Movement remains gentle and optional, including a relaxed yoga session designed to help you settle further into your body and surroundings. The rest of the time is intentionally unstructured—perfect for slow walks, quiet reflection, or simply sitting with the vast silence of the fjord. These days are about disconnecting from noise and beginning to recalibrate, setting the tone for the deeper reset to come.

Day 4-9

The Reset

Days 4 through 10 are spent in the quiet coastal village of Hjalteyri, where the experience settles into its natural rhythm and the deeper reset begins. Life here is intentionally simple and balanced. Each day starts with gentle movement—walking or light hiking along scenic fjord trails—designed not as a challenge, but as a way to reconnect with your body and the surrounding landscape.

The days unfold with a mix of light exploration and unstructured time. You may set out on a whale watching excursion through the calm waters of Eyjafjörður, visit local museums such as the Herring Era Museum, or take a short journey to Hrísey for a peaceful island walk. Moments of restoration are woven throughout, from soaking in the geothermal hot tubs in Hauganes, to unwinding at the Forest Lagoon, or starting the day with a quiet session at a sunrise sauna by the sea.

Food plays a central role in the experience. Meals are balanced, nourishing, and built around fresh, local ingredients—designed to leave you feeling energized rather than heavy. Some evenings are spent dining together at Eyri, while others include relaxed, shared cooking experiences where guests come together to prepare simple, wholesome meals.

There is no pressure to do everything. Each activity is optional, and the pace remains calm and unhurried. Whether you choose to join a walk, take part in an experience, or simply sit with a coffee overlooking the fjord, these days are about finding your own rhythm again. By the end of your time here, the shift is subtle but real—you feel lighter, clearer, and more connected, having experienced Iceland not as a destination, but as a way of being.
