From Shoreline to History: Normandy Awaits
Explore the history, landscapes, and lasting impact of Normandy on this thoughtfully designed tour. Travel with the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force as you visit museums, walk the landing beaches, and experience the sites that shaped D-Day and its aftermath.
This journey includes the landing beaches along with other significant locations across the region, offering a meaningful look at one of the most pivotal moments in world history.
Tour participants will arrive at Heathrow Airport (LHR), where a representative from the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force will greet the group. From there, you’ll be transferred by private car to the Macdonald Hotel in Windsor.
After check-in, take time to explore Windsor at your own pace. In the evening, join fellow travelers for a cocktail reception and welcome dinner.
Located in the heart of Windsor, the Macdonald Windsor Hotel places you just a short walk from Windsor Castle. Its central setting offers easy access to the town’s historic streets, shops, and atmosphere.
Begin your journey at the D-Day Story in Portsmouth, where exhibits highlight the city’s role in launching the Allied invasion.
Step inside Southwick House, which served as the headquarters of the Allied high command in the months leading up to D-Day in 1944. It was here that General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Admiral Bertram Ramsay, and General Bernard Montgomery planned the invasion of Normandy.
In the evening, travel to the village of Eastwell for an overnight stay at Eastwell Manor. Its location near Dover provides convenient access for the next day’s crossing to France.
Depart England via the Eurotunnel, crossing beneath the Channel into France before continuing on to Bayeux by coach. A box lunch will be provided along the way before arriving at the hotel.

Step into the D-Day Experience, where immersive exhibits and a restored C-47 aircraft bring the story of the airborne invasion to life.
Enjoy a day at leisure in Bayeux, where you can explore its historic streets, discover local shops and cafés, or visit sites that bring the region’s story to life. Dinner is on your own this evening, offering the chance to experience local cuisine wherever you choose.
Begin the day at the Airborne Museum in Saint-Mère-Église, where exhibits trace the role of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions in the early hours of D-Day.
Continue to Utah Beach, where the museum provides insight into the landings and the broader operation along this sector of the Normandy coast.
Visit Brecourt Manor, where members of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, known as Easy Company, carried out a key assault on German artillery positions on June 6, 1944.
Conclude the day with dinner at Hotel de L’Marine, where all tables overlook the sandy beach, offering sweeping views of the coastline as you dine.
Begin the day at Pointe du Hoc, where U.S. Army Rangers scaled the cliffs on June 6, 1944, to destroy German gun positions and secure this strategic point along the coast.
Continue to La Cambe, the final resting place of over 21,000 German soldiers, offering a quiet and reflective perspective on the cost of war.
Visit Omaha Beach, where American forces faced some of the fiercest resistance on D-Day, and walk the shoreline that became one of the most pivotal landing sites of the invasion.
Explore the Overlord Museum, where artifacts, vehicles, and personal stories provide deeper insight into the Normandy campaign.
Conclude the afternoon at the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, where 9,387 American service members are laid to rest. A special ceremony will be held here for the tour group.
End the day with dinner at Château Saint-Gilles, offering a relaxed setting to reflect on the day’s experiences.
Begin with a drive along the Normandy coastline to view the remains of the Mulberry Harbor, an extraordinary feat of engineering that supported the Allied landings after D-Day.
Continue along the eastern landing beaches, tracing the paths of British and Canadian forces at Gold, Juno, and Sword.
Visit the German gun battery at Longues-sur-Mer, where original artillery positions still overlook the coastline.
Explore the Pegasus Bridge Museum, dedicated to the airborne troops who captured this vital crossing in the opening moments of D-Day.
Before departing France, visit the Musée du Mur de l’Atlantique, where exhibits explore the German coastal defenses that lined the Normandy shoreline.
Depart France via the Eurotunnel, crossing beneath the Channel back to England.
Upon arrival, gather for a farewell dinner at the.Macdonald Windsor Hotel, a final opportunity to reflect on the journey and share the experience with fellow travelers.
Private car transfers will be arranged for your departure, providing a short drive to Heathrow Airport.
Participants will be dropped off at their designated terminal in the Departures area, with time for a smooth check-in for their return flight home.
