Scotland Junior Golf Invitational (SJGI)
The Scotland Junior Golf Invitational is a premier event bringing together top American high school golfers for an elite international competition. The level of play is outstanding, and the camaraderie developed among players is truly inspiring.
Participants will experience some of the finest links golf in the world—every course on the itinerary ranks among the top 100 in the UK.
We proudly partner with NCSA, offering exclusive discounts and enhanced support for student-athletes navigating the college recruitment process. Our alumni have gone on to compete at over 50 universities across the USA and UK. SJGI is designed with the athlete in mind, providing a collegiate-style experience that serves as an introduction to life as a student-athlete. NCSA has played a vital role in helping many of our participants find the right collegiate fit.
The trip is personally planned and led by Brian and Dana Volmer, who have been organizing and guiding golf tours in Scotland since 1990. As members of several of the clubs we’ll be visiting, the Volmers bring unparalleled insight and access. They are the Tour Directors of SJGI and the founders of GoGolfTours, one of the top-rated European golf tour operators in the U.S.

Afternoon: Continue to Dunbar Golf Club, a classic seaside links where parkland holes give way to dramatic coastal stretches shaped by wind, stone walls, and sea views. A round here is both challenging and unforgettable.
Evening: Enjoy dinner in Dunbar’s clubhouse, overlooking one of East Lothian’s finest vistas.
Play begins at the iconic North Berwick West Links, ranked #9 in the world by Golf Digest. Set along the Firth of Forth, this historic course is famed for its stone walls, blind shots, and dramatic seaside holes—an unforgettable test of true links golf.

Final Round – SJGI Individual Championship
The closing round takes place at The Glen Golf Club, perched on cliffs above North Berwick with sweeping coastal views. James Braid’s first design, the course blends natural contours with seaside winds to demand precision and creativity. As the final putts drop, a champion will be crowned in a setting as memorable as the golf itself.
Depart North Berwick at 10:00 AM for St Andrews, the Home of Golf. Enjoy a guided town tour, including the Old Course, Swilcan Bridge, and Cathedral ruins. In the afternoon, play the historic Himalayas Putting Course (est. 1867), a fun and challenging short-game experience beside the Old Course. The day concludes with dinner in town before transferring to Anstruther, a charming fishing village on the East Neuk of Fife.
Transfer from Anstruther to Stirling Golf Club, set beneath Stirling Castle with views of the Ochil Hills. The day features the first matches of the Scotland Junior Golf Invitational, including a friendly nine-hole foursomes with the award-winning Forth Valley Junior Golf Team. Competition, cultural exchange, and new friendships will define the day, capped with dinner and warm hospitality at Stirling’s clubhouse.
The SJGI Team Championship concludes on the Eden Course, a 1914 Harry Colt design known for its subtle greens and coastal views. Finalists will compete for the title while runners-up play a spirited consolation match.
After golf, we’ll celebrate with an awards dinner at The St Andrews Golf Club, founded in 1843 and overlooking the Old Course’s 18th green — a fitting finale to a week of competition, camaraderie, and Scottish tradition.
As our time in Scotland ends, we hope you leave with lasting memories of world-class golf, new friendships, and the country’s rich heritage. Transfers will be arranged by SJGI staff for a smooth return to the airport.
