About this trip

Embark on a legendary 217 km canoe journey through one of the most breathtaking stretches of the Yukon River! A scenic floatplane flight whisks you from Whitehorse to the remote end of Lake Laberge, where your adventure begins on the iconic “30 Mile River”—renowned for its crystal-clear waters, rich history, and incredible fishing.


Far from civilization, paddle through untouched wilderness, setting up camp in pristine nature under the vast northern sky. As the fire crackles, share tales of the Klondike Gold Rush, reliving the spirit of past adventurers. Keep your eyes on the shoreline—you may spot a majestic moose or a powerful grizzly watching from the wild.

What's included

Experienced guide

Your Guide will be an experienced canoe and Kayak professional and also a good Chef! He/She also is trained in Wilderness First Aid and will share their wealth of Yukon knowledge with you

Small group experience

Group size is typically 3-7 people

Gear provided

All camping and cooking gear - canoes, paddles, life jackets, and safety equipment, plus tent, therma-rest, dry bags.

All meals during tour

You can even help your Guide prepare meals, drinking water provided from the River

All transportation

You will be picked up at hotel on morning of Day 1 and shuttled to Float Plane Base, Flight is included, plus shuttle back from Carmacks

Emergency equipment

Your Guide is trained in Wilderness First Aid and will have adequate first aid kit on board plus satellite communication

What's not included

Flights

Your flight to and from Whitehorse is not included in this Package, but your Float Plane Scenic flight to Lower Laberge is included

Meals

Any food you may purchase during your transportation day 1 and Day 6 is not covered in the package

Alcoholic beverages

You are welcome to bring modest alchol on your tour, but can only be consumed at days end campsites, no alcohol is provided on this tour

Sleeping bag

We do not supply sleeping bags,

Fishing license

We can arrange for your fishing license for a $30 fee

Insurance

We recommend obtaining your own travel and trip insurance

Drinking Water Container

You are responsible to bring your own drinking water container

Day 1

Touchdown in the Wild

Your guide will greet you in Whitehorse in the morning before heading to the floatplane base at Schwatka Lake. After loading our gear, we take off for a breathtaking 30-minute flight following the Yukon River and Lake Laberge to our starting point at Lower Laberge.


Upon arrival, we set up camp and explore the historical remains of what was once a bustling trading post.

Paddle reaching Hootalingua

We paddle along the legendary 30 Mile River, reaching Hootalingua—the confluence of the Teslin and Yukon Rivers. Here, we take a short hike to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the vast river delta.

Paddling Through History and Wilderness

We fully embrace wilderness life—paddling through breathtaking landscapes, gathering wood for campfires, and trying our luck at fishing. A freshly caught fish is always a welcome treat!

Day 6

Back to Whitehorse

After five days deep in the wild, we arrive at Carmacks, the end of our canoe trip. A scenic drive along the Klondike Highway brings us back to Whitehorse, where we bid farewell to an adventure that will stay with us forever.
