Our group will depart Monroe approximately 8 AM. We will have restroom and lunch stops along the way before arriving in San Antonio around 6 PM. We will check into The Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk which is located on the River Walk in the heart of downtown. Formerly the Alamo National Bank, this 24-story, renovated skyscraper features a lobby with 40-foot ceilings and stained-glass windows. Enjoy free hot breakfast and 5:30 Kickback® with dinnertime snacks and drinks, then unwind at the rooftop pool with city views.
We will explore San Antonio with our step on guide, Mrs. Theresa. We will learn the history of the city and explore a couple of Missions of San Antonio as well as the San Fernando Cathedral. Next, we will have a couple of hours for lunch and shopping on your own in the Historic Market Square. Once we return to the hotel, you will have the rest of the day and night to cruise and enjoy the River Walk. You will have a three day shuttle pass and a ticket for a riverboat guided tour that you can take whenever you like.
We travel to Fredricksburg on day 3. We will begin our Hill Country tour at the National Museum of the Pacifc War. You will stroll through the shops and restaurants on Main Street for lunch. Then we will visit President Lyndon B Johnson's park ranch, and visitor center. We will have dinner at Cafe Ole (included meal) before we return to our hotel that evening. You will be able to explore the riverwalk at your leisure.
We will begin the day with a guided tour of the Alamo. Lunch will be the Lone Star Cafe (included) before we will travel to the SAS Shoe Factory for a tour. We will also visit their nostalgic general store. We return for our last night to enjoy the Riverwalk.
After breakfast, we will travel home. the bus will depart at 8 AM.
