Welcome to the Scotland Junior Golf Invitational, where competition, camaraderie, and the traditions of the game come together in golf’s spiritual homeland. Over the course of this unforgettable week, you’ll compete on world-class links courses that have challenged champions for centuries, from windswept seaside fairways to greens shaped by nature and history.
Only 30 elite American junior golfers earn the opportunity to join this event each year, traveling to Scotland to represent the USA and compete against a talented Scottish side. It’s a truly special experience — a rare chance to test your game in the birthplace of golf while building connections that last a lifetime.
But the SJGI is about more than golf. It’s about friendships formed across oceans, where athletes from throughout the USA and Scotland come together to share their passion for the game. You’ll meet like-minded players who understand the grind, the joy, and the spirit of competition — teammates and opponents who may one day be your rivals or partners in collegiate golf, and friends for life.
Along the way, you’ll immerse yourself in the rich history of Scottish golf, walk the same fairways as legends, and experience the warmth and hospitality that make Scotland unique. From the first tee shot to the final handshake, this is a week where every shot tells a story, and every moment becomes a memory.
Get ready — the Scotland Junior Golf Invitational is more than a tournament. It’s an experience you’ll carry with you forever.
You will depart the US from your desired major international airport and fly to Scotland.
Transfers will be arranged and a SJGI Representative will meet you upon your arrival.
Upon arrival in Scotland, you’ll collect your luggage and transfer to North Berwick. After checking into your lodging and getting settled:
Athletes will check in, meet their chaperones, and head out for a round on North Berwick’s Wee Course. Just steps from the clubhouse at North Berwick Golf Club, this 9-hole par-3 layout is as fun as it is historic. Opened in 1888, it was created to introduce beginners and juniors to the game, but it’s equally enjoyed by seasoned players looking for a lighthearted challenge. The holes range from 70 to just over 130 yards, offering a perfect blend of short-game practice and seaside scenery. It’s an ideal way for the SJGI athletes to shake off the travel on arrival day, and with Scotland’s long summer evenings, it’s also perfect for casual matches after dinner. Whether sharpening your wedge play or enjoying a relaxed loop with friends, the Wee Course delivers pure golfing joy.
Parents are invited to join an optional afternoon walking tour of this charming coastal town, highlighting its history, hidden gems, and must-visit spots you won’t want to miss during your stay.
Accommodation is in North Berwick for the entire trip: check in today, June 12th and depart June 19, 2027
This morning, you'll leave North Berwick behind for a scenic coastal drive to Dunbar Golf Club — but not before pausing to take in one of East Lothian's most dramatic landmarks. Just a few minutes outside town, the group arrives at Tantallon Castle for a 45-minute self-guided tour of the 14th-century fortress, perched dramatically on red sandstone cliffs above the North Sea. With panoramic views and centuries of turbulent history, it's a perfect dose of Scottish heritage en route to your next round.
From there, it’s a short transfer to Dunbar Golf Club, where a true seaside links awaits. Stretching along a narrow strip of rugged coastline, Dunbar combines history, beauty, and challenge in equal measure. The opening holes play through parkland before opening up to a thrilling stretch of coastal golf, where sea breezes and stone walls shape shot selection. A round here is always memorable — bold off the tee, scenic throughout, and full of character.
The stage is set for the opening day of the SJGI Individual Tournament, and there's no more fitting backdrop than North Berwick Golf Club. Set along the shores of the Firth of Forth, North Berwick West Links is one of the world's true golfing treasures — universally rated as one of the top links in the world. It's a masterful blend of stunning coastal scenery, centuries-old history, and holes unlike anywhere else. Known for its stone walls, blind shots, and unforgettable stretch along the beach, it's a course that delights, challenges, and surprises every time you play it.
Dana and Brian have been proud long-time members here, and we consider it our favorite course in the world. Every visit feels like coming home, and we can't wait to share it with you.

Team dinner follows at approximately 6:00 PM at the North Berwick Clubhouse.
The stage is set for the closing chapter of the SJGI Individual Championship, and there's no more fitting backdrop than The Glen Golf Club. Perched on the cliffs above North Berwick with sweeping views of the Firth of Forth, The Glen is James Braid's first design, a course that showcases the early genius of a man who would go on to become a five-time Open Champion and one of golf's most influential course architects. Every hole here demands focus — from precise approaches into greens shaped by the land to the strategic decisions dictated by the ever-present coastal breeze. The leaderboard is still in play, and today's conditions could favor those who embrace the wind and trust their creativity. As the final putts drop, we'll crown our champion in a setting as memorable as the golf itself.
Team dinner follows at approximately 6:00 PM at the The Glen Clubhouse.
Depart North Berwick at 8:00 AM for St Andrews.
This year's trip lines up with one of golf's most electric weeks — The Open Championship returns to St Andrews, and the group arrives just as the R&A transforms the Old Course into a major championship stage. Grandstands will already be rising around the 1st, 17th, and 18th holes, and the buzz of the Home of Golf gearing up for the oldest championship in the sport is impossible to miss.
With tee times at a premium during Open week, every athlete will be entered into a ballot for a coveted round on the Old Course — the same turf that has hosted golf since the 15th century and decided Open Championships for generations. Athletes not drawn for the Old Course will instead play one of St Andrews' other historic layouts, ensuring the entire team tees it up in St Andrews on the same day.
Regardless of which course they draw, every athlete's round serves as a practice round ahead of the SJGI Team Matches at Stirling and the Team Finals over the next two days — a fitting warm-up, played in the town where the game began, in the very week the world's best arrive to chase the Claret Jug.
All athletes will meet up for a team dinner in St. Andrews after their rounds. After dinner in St Andrews, the group transfers back to North Berwick for the evening.
The group transfers back to North Berwick for the evening, approximately at 6:30pm
Morning transfer on the train from North Berwick to Stirling Golf Club for the first round of SJGI Team Match play.
First round of SJGI Team Match play, alongside a friendly nine-hole foursomes match against Scotland's Forth Valley Junior Golf Team, Scotland's 2025 Youth Organization of the Year.
Set in the shadow of the historic Stirling Castle and with panoramic views of the Ochil Hills, Stirling Golf Club blends rich history with an engaging parkland layout. Founded in 1869 and redesigned by the legendary James Braid, the course offers a varied test of golf, with tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkering, and greens that reward precision.
Its elevated setting provides striking vistas in every direction — from the rolling hills to the Wallace Monument — making a round here as visually rewarding as it is competitive. The course’s blend of challenge, scenery, and tradition makes it an ideal venue for our opening team matches in Scotland.
Today the SJGI Team Finals take place right here in Gullane #2. The winning teams from Day 1 will face off for the SJGI Team Championship, while the Day 1 runners-up from Stirling compete in a spirited consolation match. The host course is still being finalized, but athletes can expect the same style of classic links golf that's defined the trip all week — firm turf, coastal wind, and greens that reward precision and nerve. With North Berwick as the backdrop, it's a fitting stage for our final day of team competition.
Following play, we’ll gather at for our team awards ceremony and dinner.
As our time together in Scotland draws to a close, we hope you leave with unforgettable memories — of world-class golf, new friendships, and the beauty and history that make this place so special. Transfers will be arranged to ensure a smooth journey to the airport as you begin your trip home to the USA.
You now join the ranks of SJGI Alumni — a group connected by this shared experience of competing in Scotland. Many of you will cross paths again, playing with or against each other in college, and we look forward to following your journeys. Keep in touch, share your achievements, and let us know where the game takes you.
From all of us at GoGolfTours, thank you for being part of this incredible week. Until we meet again on another fairway…
