A yoga teacher since 2001, Elana has cultivated a teaching style that is alignment-based and logically thought out in terms of sequencing and structure yet fluid and graceful, alternating between periods of instruction and periods of silence. She has been strongly influenced by the Iyengar and Anusara teaching styles - body-centered, and heart-centered. She brings an air of light-heartedness and humor to the mat, and tries to teach to whomever is in the room so the classes are for all levels of practice. She believes that one of the aims of yoga, in addition to cultivating strength, flexibility and mindfulness, is lift ourselves up and celebrate life, not focus on how you compare to others or all that you cannot do.
