Karen came to yoga as a college student in 1997 and has been hooked on movement-breath coordination ever since. She is working on the third series of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and the study of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras in her personal practice. She loves teaching yoga to all levels with gentle yet strong hands-on adjustments.
Karen supports strong yoga practice with the nourishing restorative techniques she has developed through personal and academic research. Now a mother, KK loves sharing mama stories and helping other women find their way to healing postpartum.
For a decade, Karen was a competitive cyclist and has worked with athletes to incorporate yoga into their training. After overcoming three knee surgeries, a broken wrist, and damage from various bicycle crashes, she shifted out of cycling and into a phase of total dedication to yoga and svadhyaya through the in-depth study of gross and subtle body anatomy. Karen holds two masters degrees, one in fine art and one in anatomy.
