jaamil olawale kosoko, (they/them) of Yoruba and Natchez descent, is a multi-spirited globally recognized Nigerian American poet, movement artist, and conjurer originally from Detroit, MI. jaamil ’s work in embodied poetics is rooted in the intergenerational passage of Black feminist knowledge, queer theories of the body, and sacred rituals of intimacy & wellness as a means to craft perpetual modes of freedom, healing, & beauty however possible. Their new book, Black Body Amnesia: Poems & Other Speech Acts was released in Feb. 2022.
