Reviews

My husband & I booked this trip as a get-away from USA winter. After we got into Buenos Aires, a rep from Argentina to Go came to the hotel and went over our itinerary. Catalina was very helpful and answered any questions. She set us up with a WhatsApp group, so we could contact here easily if there was a problem. Iguazu Falls was fabulous and our guide Enrico (Fino) was really accommodating. Our hotel was in the middle of the jungle with a very nice room. Our only complaint there was limited dining facilities. Then we flew to Salta, and our very nice driver/guide Eugenia drove us to Cafayate to begin our wine tour. We were booked for a 5 course lunch at Piatelli Winery with wine pairings. The lunch was excellent. Later that day, we also visited El Porvenir winery; they served us a large cheese and meat board with our wines which were very good. Our room at Patios de Cafayate Wine Hotel was quite large, overlooking gardens. The next day Eugenia drove us to Colome where we stayed overnight. While the hotel and wines were quite good, it was not worth two days of bone-jarring roads. The itinerary mentions gravel roads, but these were horrendous. The next day, more bone-jarring road to Calchi where we had lunch. Then we were on pavement the rest of the way to Salta where we stayed overnight. To get from Salta to Mendoza, we had to catch a 7:00 am flight to Buenos Aires and then fly back to Mendoza. Unfortunately, we had specifically wanted to visit Susana Balbo Winery, and it was on our itinerary; but it was not on the list when we got to Mendoza. Texts and calls to Catalina finally got that straightened out. Our hotel, Entre Cielos was really nice; we were in a "loft" in the middle of the vineyard. In ours, we could only see one other unit and it was off to the side. We could sit on the deck, facing the mountains and really relax. We enjoyed our three days there. The next day, we visited Susana Balbo winery for tour and tasting. Extremely good. Then we had another multiple course wine lunch at Angelique. Very well done. On our last day of touring, visited Valle de Uco, one of the premier wine areas of Mendoza We started our visits at Salenstein. There barrel room features a rotunda with a baby grand piano. We had a private for the two of us, with a very nice guide. Another multi-course wine lunch at Andeluna Winery; all the wines were Cabernet Franc. This lunch was not as successful as the others we had. And our final winery was Bosquet, an organic & bio-dynamic winery. All of the wines we tasted were very good. In our preliminary request, we had requested visiting boutique wineries. None of the ones in Mendoza could be considered boutique; it was like the Agency had certain wineries they visited and couldn't change their minds. We had to jump through hoops to get Susana Balbo added back in. Back in Buenos Aires, we were booked for an asado experience at Fogon. Seven or eight courses all cooked on huge wood fired surfaces. Definitely an experience to remember. Over-all, we enjoyed our trip very much and Argentina to Go did a great job for us.

We had a great trip. The tour in Buenos Aires provided a great background for the political and cultural information to better understand the country in general. The private tour guide was very helpful and informative. The visit at Iguazu falls was run with a private tour guide who was very knowledgeable and provided us with a good background in the falls. The Patagonian part of the trip was run by independent operators with groups so the pickup time was bit flexible because of the number of pickup and drop off locations. The tours themselves were very well done and provided some great views of a beautiful part of the country. When we returned to Buenos Aires we only had one booked event at Fugon Asado that was one of the best meals I have ever had. This was a variation that Argentina On The Go when we requested a puertas cerradas. Definitely worth it.

A great trip and great experience. Met interesting people and was well looked after. Everything went according to plan and when the plan changed due to political issues beyond our control, a proactive plan was put in place by Argentina To Go to ensure that we were well looked after, and not impacted. Food and dining was also great. Highly recommend and would use again to create a unique travel experience.
