On Lake Iseo, DAY 4
Individual arrival in Bergamo.
Overnight in Bergamo.
In the morning, meet&greed, bike delivery at the Hotel and bike fitting.
The first ride explores Brembana valley, a really green area surrounded by high mountains. The itinerary is mostly along a beautiful bike path built over an old railway, until San Pellegrino Terme, a town with remarkable Liberty-style buildings. The way back explores the park of the Bergamo hills.
Second overnight in Bergamo.
The itinerary heads South, towards the large Bergamo farmland and its wide horizons. The route then follows the course of the river Oglio until it gets to Lake Iseo (Sebino), a beautiful alpine lake. The ride explores the southern side of the lake, until it gets to the town of Iseo.
Overnight in Iseo.
The day starts with an easy train transfer to Boario Terme, in the heart of Camonica Valley. The itinerary heads South following a bike path at the bottom of the valley until it gets to the North side of Lake Iseo. The ride gets spectacular as it flanks the lake. The route then explores the entire perimeter of the charming Montisola island and then gets back to Iseo with a ferry transfer.
Second overnight in Iseo.
Right South of Iseo is Franciacorta, famous for the production of sparkling wine. The itinerary crosses this beautiful region and its rolling hills until it gets to Brescia. Take time to visit the city center, Brescia is underrated and some of its monuments deserve a visit. After Brescia, the route crosses the green farmland until it gets to Desenzano del Garda, a charming town in front of Lake Garda.
Overnight in Desenzano.
The first part of today’s ride explores the southern side of Lake Garda, away from the crowds by the lake side. The ride goes up and down rolling hills cultivated with various crops and crosses tiny hamlets and the charming village of Solferino. The last part of the route goes back to the lake side, towards the town of Sirmione: expect tourist crowds here, but Sirmione’s fame is well-deserved!
Second overnight in Desenzano.
Our last ride initially crosses the area where the Lugana white wine is produced, where rolling hills are covered with large vineyards and olive groves. Once in Peschiera Del Garda the itinerary climbs the Morainic hills until it gets to the bike path by a canal that leads into the heart of the beautiful city of Verona.
Overnight in Verona.
Check out and individual departure. Arrivederci!
