The journey takes (2hr:47min approximately) so its important we set off very early in the morning at exactly (4:00am). We shall go through the beautiful terraced hillsides that show much of Rwanda’s landscape, gradually climbing to the base of the awesome Virunga volcanoes, sometimes with as many as five peaks visible.
Proceed to the park for check in and then to the headquarters for a briefing after that set off in the forest for Gorilla trekking. A thrilling trek through the refined foothills of the Virungas led by an experienced ranger Guide provides inspiring views in all directions.
Gorilla trekking is quite strenuous but a worthwhile encounter for these gentle giants. Depending on the location of the gorillas on any given day the walk can take anything from 1 to 7 hours. Once the family of gorillas has been located, settle into the environment and enjoy the hour you have to quietly observe these fascinating primates whose habits and mannerisms remind us so much of our own. Later, drive to Kigali International Airport and take your flight back home.
