Marije E. Paternotte (E-RYT 500) was born and raised in Amsterdam where she studied law and worked as a corporate lawyer. After joining a yoga retreat in Bali life led her to the United States where she took her first yoga teacher training. She currently lives in a small beach town in New Jersey with her husband, and teaches yoga locally as well as workshops, retreats and teacher trainings around the world. Marije is also a guest teacher at the renowned Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Massachusetts.

A quiet, introspective weekend in a beautiful locale. Program was well organized and I came away with a better understanding of myself through meditation techniques and gentle movement. Accommodations were modern, clean, and spartan. Food was delicious. I would highly recommend this retreat weekend.
Marije is a very gifted teacher and this retreat was a profound experience in a short amount of time. Her scaffolding of silent meditations, yin yoga and walking meditations, along with a few "exercises" to increase our capacities to listen authentically to others, culminated in a gratitude exercise that was intense, personal, and deeply moving. Can not say enough positive things about having a chance to experience Marije as a teacher of yin, of meditation, and of becoming still and connecting both within and to others. Won Dharma is a sweet place, austere and modern, supporting contemplation. The food was simple but well prepared and the atmosphere supported us.
