About this trip

Experience Namibia’s top locations as you flow with your breath amongst majestic landscapes. We will visit 5 different locations, each a unique experience on its own - free-roaming wildlife, conservation, different cultures, adventurous days at the Skeleton Coast, meditating in the oldest Desert in the World and wellness at a private game reserve.

Our first stop will be Naankuse, an award-winning lodge and world famous wildlife sanctuary offering stunning accommodation amidst a 3,200 hectare nature reserve. The Naankuse Foundation provides a safe haven and second chance for injured, orphaned and conflict animals. Wherever possible, their aim is to release animals back into the wild and their activities give you an opportunity to see how these animals are cared for. Join one of their feeding tours, guided nature walks or perhaps go horseback riding at sunset or learn about the ancient San.

The following 3 nights we will stay at a lodge close to the Southern gate of Namibia’s Greatest Wildlife Park - Etosha National Park. It is home to 114 free roaming species of mammals, 340 bird species, 110 reptile species and 16 amphibian species which make game viewing here a unique experience. We will head to the park early in the mornings with experienced guides and return to the lodge for lunch, relaxation, yoga, beautiful sunsets and African inspired meals under the stars.

From wildlife at Etosha to adventurous days awaiting at the Skeleton Coast. Swakopmund, with its laid back feel, palm trees and great restaurants, has various activities to choose from. Whether you want something active or more relaxed, or even a combination, this coastline will surprise you with what it has to offer. Yoga sessions here will be held in the desert and on the beach.

We will make our way down south to Sossusvlei, located in the Namib-Naukluft National Park. It is undoubtedly Namibia's most iconic landscape,  The Namib Desert is the oldest desert in the world and stretches over 1500km with dunes reaching heights of 300m.

Our last night will be spent at a private game reserve offering a unique combination of wildlife, nature and wellness experiences. What a perfect ending to a retreat!

Yoga & Acroyoga Safari Retreat was the trip of a lifetime! The itinerary was very carefully curated and full of activities. Our accommodation was beautiful, very comfortable and varied. Etosha Village was right in the heart of nature. We had our yoga sessions with the backdrop of the most beautiful sunsets. The safari park was at our doorstep and both Marcel and Buzzy were very knowledgeable ( also really good company). Our Swakopmund accommodation was located at the doorstep of the desert with dune views from our windows. We had a fantastic flight above the desert at Sossusvlei and a stunning hike on top of the biggest dune. every day was special and unique. Thanks Marcel and Anna for organising, thank you for all the chats and the yoga and acro sessions, it was wonderful!

What a wonderful retreat and experience, led by the attentive, passionate and knowledgeable Marcel! Traveling with Marcel, the founder of Namaste Yoga Safari, feels like meeting up with a local caring friend; it never feels you are part of a group or following a strict schedule as Marcel has a unique ability to feel the the vibe and constantly adjusts the planning and activities to fit the mood of the guests - never too much, never too little. Although she has traveled the world and seen countless wildlife, she is not blasé and is in much in awe of the wildlife as you are, reinforcing the sense of community and intimacy she creates so quickly with her guests. We saw amazing wildlife, lions were incredible, stayed with an incredible conservationist couple who gave us insights into the conservation challenges faced in SA, slept in very well equipped tents and had super good food and desserts. We laughed a lot too! It was my second trip with NYS and I am planning my third one for 2023. Thank you Marcel for hosting this wonderful retreat.

Muriel, where do I start - it's because of beautiful souls like you, why I do what I do, and LOVE what I do;) Without you it would not be possible to share these amazing adventures and special moments... - WE fell asleep with the roars of lions in a distance - WE woke up to the most beautiful sunrises and laid in savanasa underneath the African sky - WE moved with our breaths and grounded ourselves with the surrounding nature - WE tracked wildlife on our safari drives and saw countless stars at night - WE laughed - WE licked some sun - WE listened - WE observed - WE learned - WE had delicious meals while viewing the animals out in their natural habitat - WE had fun - WE relaxed - WE made memories - WE - WITHOUT ALL OF YOU, WE would not be possible - and I know WE will make some more great memories in the next destination... PS: Still using and loving my LUSH products:)))) xxx

This Retreat was such a unique and fulfilling experience, it was very well organised whilst still allowed for flexibility of the group's needs. Marcel has incredible knowledge and energy which she radiates. The safari/conversation camp was a really rare opportunity to see a non-commercialised and ecologically grounded game reserve in a fairly unvisited part of South Africa. The activities were tailored around the group and the daily yoga was great, Marcel adapted it to our activities and needs throughout the week. Thank you so much, I can't wait to travel with you again.

Ohhhhh Buffalo Soldier ;)))) This trip is one to remember - so many good times and great laughs. I just read this again about buffalo spirit animals - such great meaning to it and especially love the part where they say: " The Buffalo totem requires you to establish a deep connection to the Earth. It will ask you to support the endangered species of our planet. Thus, he will bring you ‘strength of character’ as well as an independent spirit. With this power animal, you will generate prosperity, abundance, and have plenty of resources. This manifestation cannot be pushed or forced. Therefore you must follow the most natural path". Hmmmmm - Maybe no coincidence that you were in very close contact with a buffalo while establishing a deep connection with yourself and to earth, while on a yoga & wildlife conservation retreat supporting endangered species?? ;) - Something to think about... https://www.spirit-animals.com/buffalo-symbolism/ Our paths will meet again somewhere for sure!! xxxxx
