Day 1

Arrival

Arrival of all guests through the Kotoka International Airport. Your local guide will be waiting for you at the airport when you arrive. You will be transferred from the airport to your hotel. Check-in and relax for the remainder of the day and prepare for the next day.   

Day 2

Accra City Tour

 

The second day of the tour is all about exploring the city of Accra which is the capital city of Ghana. The tour will begin with a visit to the WEB Dubois Center which was home to Dr. Dubois, one of the pioneers of pan Africanism in the world. You will learn about some of his works and his contributions to the liberation of black people.


The second stop will be the Kwame Nkrumah Museum which is where the Dr Kwame Nkrumah who was the first president of Ghana is buried. This site tells the story of the fight of Ghana to gain independence from colonial rule and the role Dr Kwame Nkrumah played in the liberation of Ghana.


The next stop is the Accra Arts Center where you will get to shop for Ghanaian-made crafts for yourself and your loved ones. The center has all kinds of crafts from paintings, jewelry, carvings, and clothing to beads, shea butter and many more. This is the best place to get crafts made by the locals and support their work.


The final stop of the day will be at Independence Square, where you can take some pictures of the famous Black Star Monument.

Assin Manso Slave River & Cape Coast Castle

Assin Manso Slave River and Camp

We will visit the Assin Manso Slave River where the slave captives had their last bath before they were taken to the slave castles and later to the “new world”.


Cape Coast Castle

We will later visit the Cape Coast Slave Castle which was built by the British and one of the 3 remaining slave castle in relation to the trans atlantic slave trade on the cost of Ghana. in You will get to see the slave dungeons where the captives were kept and the door of no return among many others.

Day 4

Cooking Class Experience & Elmina Castle

After breakfast, we will visit one of the locals in Elmina who will host us for a cooking class experience. She will share some authentic recipes that have been in her family for a long time and you will be able to join her in making these dishes. When the dishes are ready, we'll all sit together to enjoy the dishes we've prepared, experiencing the true essence of Ghanaian hospitality and family dining.


Elmina Castle

In the afternoon, we will visit the Elmina Castle built by the Portuguese in 1482 is the oldest and the biggest slave castle in existence in relation to the transatlantic slave castle. You will get to see the slave dungeons, the door of no return and the prison where one of the Kings of Ashanti was imprisoned.

Kakum National Park

 Today, we will visit the Kakum National Park and walk on the canopy walkway which is made up of bridges suspended in the air supported by the big trees in the forest. The bridges give a bird's eye view of the forest and a breathtaking view of the forest.

Drive back to Accra

Chocolate making & tasting experience

We will visit one of the local Ghanaian made chocolate brands and learn all about the art of chocolate making. You will learn about cocoa (raw ingredient for chocolate) and its contribution to Ghana’s economy and some of the benefits of cocoa and chocolate. We will also get to taste some of the chocolate varieties available and make our own chocolate as a souvenir.

Beach Relaxation

 We will spend the day at the beach to relax, swim and enjoy the breeze.

Shopping from local Ghanaian brands

Today we will visit some Ghanaian local brands in clothing, candles, shea products, jewelry and other accessories. You can shop from these local brands to support them and also learn more about their business.

Batik Making Experience

Today, you will get to make your very own textile fabric during the Batik Making Experience. This rich tradition of African textiles is a cherished craft deeply rooted in Ghanaian culture and also serves as a major source of income for many people.

You will be able to make your own batik fabric not just as souvenirs, but as tangible memories of a day spent immersing themselves in Ghanaian culture and creativity.

Day 10

Depature

Unfortunately, all beautiful things sometimes have to come to an end and so does this memorable experience. You will prepare for your departure and depending on the time of your flight, your local guide will transfer you from the hotel to the airport.
