Be immersed in Tanzania’s great outdoors on this full-day tour to Materuni and Kikuletwa Hotsprings –ideal for culture vultures and active travelers in the region. Start off on a hike to Materuni Waterfalls and enjoy a refreshing dip. Next, head to a local farm to learn more about Tanzania’s coffee industry to and make your own cup of coffee using traditional ways.  We will have local lunch before unwinding in the Kikuletwa Hot Springs.

If you don’t have time to climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, this 1-day hike to Cathedral Point is a great alternative. Begin your hike in the early morning alongside a private guide to reach Cathedral Point, which is 12,700 feet (3,870 meters) above sea level and is Located on the Shira Plateau, Cathedral point is the oldest peak of Kilimanjaro, this hike provides stunning views of the snow-capped Mount kilimnjaro summit.

We will depart from Arusha after breakfast for the approximately two hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Along the way you'll pass bustling Maasai villages and the vast, open plains that have become synonymous with images of Africa.

Once you've entered Tarangire, you'll begin your game drive across a rich vista of endless golden savannah that surrounds the Tarangire River. The river itself runs throughout the year and is a vital source of water for the animals of the region during the dry season. Lined with acacia and Baobab trees, the river is regularly visited by the park's large elephant population as well as other herbivores such as zebras and antelopes.

A picnic lunch with a view of the river is a great way to take it all in, but you'll have to keep on your toes as the local monkey population does its best to separate you from your lunch!

Driving through the park you'll also have the opportunity to see lions, leopards, cape buffalo, and a huge variety of antelopes. If you're particularly lucky, you might even see endangered animals such as the Greater Kudu or the Fringe-Eared Oryx.

After your day's drive is done, you'll retire to your accommodation for the evening.

Today you will discover modern day Tanzanian village life - by bike!  During this bike tour you go on a 2-hour stroll through the local farming village of Mto Wa Mbu. This village is unique in Tanzania since it is home to over a 120 different tribes from across Africa. The ride will take you to see local farms, schools, a kindergarten, local homes, the market and milling machines.  If you prefer a less physical activity the by cycling tour can be swaped for a tour via Tuk Tuk.

You will conclude your morging of exploration with a hot local lunch under the banana leaves. Discover Tanzanian cuisine and try a wide range of local dishes. Some of the dishes include Pilau (spiced brown rice with meat), Makande (corn with beans cooked together), Ndizi nyama (green banana cooked with meat), Ugali (stiff porridge). If you wish, you can even taste banana beer, a local brew made from bananas. Bon appetite!

After lunch you will set of for your drive to Lake  Natron. The route takes you in the heart of the cultural home of the Maasai. On the way, you will pass Engaruka, an archaeological site of the Stone-age settlement. Arrive in the late afternoon and enjoy the sunset.

Overnight at Lake Natron Tented Camp. 

Lake Natron is  truly off the beaten track and one of Tanzania’s least visited gems. Today you will spend a full day  her discovering the beauties of the Lake. You will go  walking by the lake with a guide, exploring the waterfalls and hike to the hominid footprint. There is plenty to do!  If you are lucky you will even spot the famous flamingos who come here to breed.  It pays to rise early and see the sunset – the colours are spectacular!

After a day immersing yourselves in the awe inspiriting landscape enjoying the unique colours varying from pink, lime, green and red due to the concentration of minerals – you will return to your lodge. Enjoy dinner and a drink while overlooking Ondonyo Lengai,the only active volcano in north Tanzania and a holy mountain for the Maasai.

In the evening enjoy the sundowner overlooking Lake Natron, the majestic Lengai and Gelai mountains and watch the sun goes down behind the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley.

Today we have another day filled of adventure in front of us. After breakfast you will bid farewell to the unique landscape of Lake Natron and set off for perhaps the famous nature park in the world:  The Serengeti!

The road slowly climbs along several serpentine turns. Enjoy a last view onto Lake Natron before leaving the Rift Valley behind and continue via the village of Wasso to Northern Serengeti. 

You will enter the Serengeti  through Klein’s Gate  in the afternoon – like the way in – this is not a short drive but you are sure to enjoy the unique views.

There are always plenty of resident animals, such as giraffes, buffalo, and elephants, and many large predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. We return to central Serengeti to our special tented camp for the night.

Expert Tips:

The best time to visit North Serengeti is July till October - if you travel during another time of year we will adjust the location of your overnight here.

We have another full day in this wonderful park, rising early to make the most of our time. Our guides will choose the best spotting locations for the time of year, we can spend time at the Hippo pool watching these majestic animals laze about in the cool water happily living alongside the crocodiles, watch a big pride of lions, be in the middle of the migration, sometimes surrounded by wildebeest, sometimes by zebras, which travel with the wildebeest. This diverse and interesting landscape will provide us with the ultimate in game viewing, we will hopefully see all of the plain games; elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lions, and if you are lucky the elusive leopard and cheetah, as well as huge amounts of the interesting birdlife, from the elegant secretary birds to the flightless ostrich. We return to our special tented camp for the night.

After breakfast, you'll depart for Ngorongoro Crater; considered by some to be the Eighth Wonder of the World. When you get your first glimpse of this vast, verdant caldera from the panoramic viewpoint, you'll soon understand why it has earned such a lofty reputation.

Home to over 120 species of mammal including the fabled Big Five, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of the most sought after safari destinations in the world. It's a particularly good place to see the endangered black rhinoceros enjoying a lonely meal out on the grass plains, as well as a place to see large numbers of hippopotamus enjoying the cool water.

From the comfort of your open-top vehicle, you'll be able to observe and photograph some of Africa's most recognizable faces. The crater is home to a large number of predators including lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas, as well as a large population of wildebeest, zebras, antelope, cape buffalo, and more. It is truly one of Africa's premier safari destinations.

After the thrills and excitement of the day, you will have a picnic lunch by the park's famous hippo pool before driving to Karatu town for your overnight
