About your trip

This 100 hour advanced study program for certified yoga teachers looking to teach yoga through a therapeutic lens.

This is an in-depth look at the delicate navigation of using yoga, Ayurveda and personal development as therapy.  The program offers yoga teachers, health professionals, and licensed practitioners alike, a deeper understanding of the inner workings of dis-ease, it’s stages,  and the emotional-physical link and impact.

Our curriculum has been sourced from decades of study and experience in the field of Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda, Somatic exercises, human potential lineages and other subtle body healing approaches.

It's a blend of traditional yoga, Ayurvedic philosophy, therapeutic yoga knowledge, physical and cognitive behavior practices, and our personal extensive experience. The goal is to instigate and sustain deep healing on all levels - physical, emotional and cognitive.

Students will learn the concepts, as well as the practical therapeutic application of a wide range of practices, techniques, and theories including:

  • pranayama for particular outcomes
  • guided meditation, prana vidya techniques, yoga nidra and other subtle body practices
  • cognitive awareness and emotional intelligence in relation to dis-ease and trauma
  • therapeutic Ayurvedic physiology, functional yoga therapy, and somatic movement

The above practices and tools will provide you with the necessary skills for teaching a therapeutic yoga class in a group setting, implementing a customized yoga protocol in a private setting, and/or offering viable therapeutic options and practices to clients in a professional health setting.

This training will be held at our partnering yoga studio, Sōl Yoga Collective, in the vibrant yoga community of Rapid City, South Dakota.

*Yoga Alliance accreditation is contingent upon participants engaging in the sessions for the entire duration of the training. If a participant cannot attend a session for whatever reason, he/she may not qualify for certification. In some pre-approved cases, we may consider an alternative assignment or make-up of hours, but we are addressing this on a case-by-case basis. In general, participants should plan to attend all sessions for the full duration of the training for both the in-person and online experience.
