11 day Guatemalan adventure!

 Why Guatemala

  • Half of all children under five are chronically malnourished, the worst level of malnutrition in the Western Hemisphere.
  • Guatemala has one of the most unequal income distributions in the hemisphere; an estimated 51% of people live in poverty and 13% live in extreme poverty. www.usaid.gov/guatemala
  • staying in school remains a major problem since only 4 in 10 children who start will finish primary school. Indigenous girls attend school, on average, for only three years.
