Our tour starts in Kenya, soaking in wildlife in the heart of Africa. We have an extremely full tour where we'll experience four national parks across Kenya and Tanzania, ending at the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. All of our game drives are sure to be filled with life while we search out the African Big Five.
Land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and relax for one night at The Boma Nairobi hotel, the safari starts in earnest tomorrow morning.
On the outskirts of one of the busiest cities in Africa, Nairobi National Park is a fantastic park to visit and one of the best places to see rhinos anywhere in Kenya. Also, you're likely to see lions, as well as giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, hippos and crocodiles. The park's astonishing bird list has more than 500 recorded species. Seeing tall city buildings close on the horizon only adds to the unique experience.
Visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to meet the playful young elephants.
Everything seems to be cast on a grander scale in Tarangire National Park, from the giant baobab trees to the massive elephants for which the park is famous. Other wildlife to look out for include big cats, zebra, hippo, buffalo, wildebeest and more. If you're really lucky, you may spy the park's population of African wild dog.
See the best of Tarangire National Park on an all-day guided game drive.
Lake Manyara is a world-class wildlife viewing destination, famous for its elephants and home to one of the few lion populations that are known to climb trees. The scenery is similarly superb, with the park's thin, dense strip of forest wedged between a bird-rich lake and the steep cliffs of the Rift Valley escarpment.
Relax and enjoy a day at Kon Tiki Camp in the heart of the Serengeti. Sleep in, savor the camp environment, and perhaps visit nearby attractions like Seronera River.
Further explore Central Serengeti with a full-day guided game drive.
Explore the Ngorongoro Highlands, the high-altitude forests that surround Ngorongoro Crater. The climate here is much cooler than elsewhere in Tanzania, and the views of craters and mountains are spectacular. Of course keep an eye out for wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, and even leopards.
You'll never forget the first time you see Ngorongoro Crater from above, looking out from the rim is like gazing down on a lost world of wildlife and beauty. You'll spend the day exploring this remarkable place, seeing its lions, hyenas, black rhinos, elephants, flamingos, and much more.
All good things must come to an end, and your time with us on safari in Tanzania draws to a close. We're sure that you've had a wonderful time.
On the way to the airport we stop at a Maasai village for one last cultural experience.
