This 11-day cross-border journey takes you from the cultural heart of Dar es Salaam to the wild frontiers of Western Tanzania and the misty volcanoes of Rwanda. Experience Tanzania’s historic Kigoma & Ujiji, trek wild chimpanzees in Gombe National Park, and discover the remote wilderness of Katavi National Park. Cross into Rwanda via Rusumo Border and explore Kigali’s vibrant culture and tragic history, culminating with an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park. Arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport. Transfer to hotel and overnight stay.

Dar es Salaam City Tour – Evening Flight to Kigoma

Explore historic Old Boma, Askari Monument, museums, Kariakoo & Village Museum. Evening flight to Kigoma.

Day 3

Kigoma & Ujiji Cultural Experience

Visit Livingstone–Stanley Memorial, Lake Tanganyika shoreline, and Ujiji town. Overnight in Kigoma.

Day 4

Gombe National Park Trekking

Boat to Gombe, trek to track wild chimpanzees, spot primates and birds. Return to Kigoma for overnight.

Transfer to Katavi National Park

Travel to Katavi, Tanzania’s hidden wilderness. Afternoon game drive in the park.

Early morning gorilla trekking in Volcanoes NP. Afternoon return to Kigali, overnight stay.

Departure from Kigali

Breakfast, last-minute shopping, and transfer to Kigali International Airport for departure.
