About your trip

🏃‍♀️🏛️👀Discover Trastevere: The Soul of Ancient Rome!

Step into the heart of Trastevere, Rome’s oldest and most authentic neighborhood.
Its name means “beyond the Tiber” — and crossing the river truly feels like stepping into another world, full of history, charm, and hidden treasures.

Walk Through History
Every alley of Trastevere tells a story.
In 1849, right here, during excavations in what was then Vicolo delle Palme, archaeologists discovered the Apoxyomenos — the statue of the athlete who cleanses himself after a race.
The find was so extraordinary that the street was renamed Vicolo dell’Atleta, “the Alley of the Athlete.”
Today, this masterpiece can be admired in the Vatican Museums.

Hidden Corners and Timeless Beauty
Explore the Vicolo della Scala, where the church of Santa Maria della Scala stands, built around a miraculous image of the Virgin found above a staircase.
Visit Piazza in Piscinula, once home to ancient Roman pools, and wander down Vicolo della Renella, named after the river sand left by the Tiber’s floods.
Each corner reveals another layer of Trastevere’s enchanting past.

About your organizer

Hello! I’m Isabella, Isa for short. I was born in Calabria, but now I’m Roman by adoption. Eleven years ago I decided to start a new life in the city that has always been a dream for me: Rome. Probably the wish expressed at 9 years old in the toss coin in the Trevi Fountain came true! A fresh start! I am an Art Historian, PhD in History of Art at the University of Siena, an Archeologist,  licensed tour guide, also for the Colosseum and Vatican Museums. I am also a Fidal technician and Coni physical trainer! In 2016 was born the most important project for me: ArcheoRunning. In it I’ve combined my passions: to tell about the hostory of the city of Rome, her culture and the running! In fact, I do running tours. But not simple running tour, but real guided running tours. I have a specific mission, to make the city known from a completely new point of view through gentle movement! It is not a race or a hard workout, ArcheoRunning is well-being and happiness. In a word: #RunDipity!
