Day 11 is dedicated to an exhilarating 15km kayaking expedition. Volunteers will paddle through the beautiful estuary and along the stunning South African coastline, experiencing the diverse aquatic environment firsthand.

This extended kayaking adventure offers a unique perspective of the reserve's waterways and allows for close observation of marine and estuarine life. As with all activities, this expedition is subject to weather conditions and Reserve Management approval.

Day 12 dives into crucial marine conservation efforts through direct involvement in the Oceanographic Research Institute's (ORI) cooperative fish and shark tagging project. Volunteers will receive a thorough briefing on the safe and proper techniques for catching, tagging, recording information, and releasing estuarine fish species.

All necessary fishing rods will be provided for practical application. The data collected from these findings will then be submitted to the ORI international database, contributing to ongoing research.
