On this 4th of July weekend we'll escape the crowds by trail running deep into Desolation Wilderness. We'll start from the scenic and popular Eagle Falls trailhead by Lake Tahoe's famous Emerald Bay and soon leave crowds behind as we travel on a primitive trail marked only by cairns. We'll visit a remote stretch of this rocky granite landscape passing by 16 lakes on the way of this point to point adventure. On this fastpacking weekend combining ultralight backpacking and trail running, we'll carry a lightweight small pack with our belongings and run/hike into this Lake Tahoe wilderness, spending the night at a remote lake to watch the sunset and sunrise underneath the Crystal Range.
We'll cover approximately 30 miles and 7,000 feet of elevation gain over two days on the scenic and technical trails of Desolation Wilderness. All participants will receive a suggested packing list and fastpacking tips. Join us for this adventure weekend trail running in Lake Tahoe's scenic and rugged Desolation Wilderness!
