About this trip
Our first day we’ll drive you forty-five minutes to the banks of the Nam Khan river. Cross by boat and begin hiking through the beautiful countryside of Laos, visiting an ethnically diverse group of Hmong, Khmu, and Lao Loum villages along the way. We’ll overnight at a beautiful Khmu village where you can witness and partake in the daily activities of the village. This village has some modern amenities and is perfect for those looking for a more comfortable home-stay experience.
On the second morning, wake to breakfast prepared by your guide before saying your farewells and departing on a fairly easy trek to the river lasting about an hour and a half. Climb onto your kayak and set off on about 3 hours of kayaking down the Nam Khan river. For lunch we’ll stop at the Tat Sae waterfall where you can go for a swim in it’s beautiful waters.

Itinerary
DAY1; 8:20 – 9:00 AM, we start from Manifa Travel’s office or your accommodation and drive 50-minutes to the east side of Luang Prabang. Then we begin hiking and cross the Nam Khan River by boat. We arrive at a village called “Ban Suan Dala” where Hmong and Lao people live together. You’ll have time to explore village with your guide and find their interesting village-lifestyle.
We continue hiking up a hill another 1.5 – 2 hour to a small Hmong village “Ban TinPha” On the top of the hill. On the way, we will enjoy the lush scenery as we head into the hills. Around the noon, we reach the village and enjoy lunch in a Hmong home. (We can also prepare the picnic lunch instead of Hmong family lunch according to your request) During the lunch break, we will take enough time to walk around the village and see their traditional life and culture, and also have the chance to capture breathtaking views of mountains
We continue trekking downhill and cross a long small stream. After 1.5 -2 hour, we arrive at a Khmu village ” Ban Houay Fai ” where we stay overnight. Our guide will introduce you to the villages, prepare dinner. After dinner we enjoy exploring the village or have a drink with the locals if you like. We will have an incredible night in the mountainous village.
