Today we Say goodbye to Jambiani and Transfer to stone town.. We will pick you up at your hotel at 11:00am and have a short visit at jozani forest and a spice farm before heading to stone town for overnight.
Jozani forest is a home to unique Red Colobus monkeys. Zanzibar is the only place on the planet where this species is found. About 80% of all the island’s monkeys live in the Jozani jungle. Jozani is the largest area of indigenous forest on Zanzibar Island. Situated south of Chwaka Bayonlow-lying land, the area is prone to flooding, which nurtures the lush swamp-like environment of moisture-loving trees and ferns. Here you will encounter other species of monkeys, bushbabies, duikers, Butterflies and more than 40 species of birds
We will aslo visit a spice farm nearby jozani forest to explore the industry that put the island on the map and learn more about the island’s rich history, you will explore the various spices of Zanzibar which are used in almost every kitchen on earth, such as cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, garlic, lemongrass, turmeric, ginger, vanilla, nutmeg, and more.
You’ll not only learn how these spices go from the plantations to our tables but also about the more unorthodox uses for these spices as home remedies. you will enjoy eating fresh fruits and coconut before heading to stonetown for the evening.
