About this trip

 This tour includes Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Chobe National Park in Botswana, Moremi National Park in Botswana, Upper Kavango delta at the Kavango River in Namibia, Etosha National Park, Damaraland, Skeleton Coast, Swakopmund, Namib Desert, and Windhoek. It is a mixture of good wildlife viewing where you will see the Big 5, landscapes, cultures. It includes a return flight to and from the Kavango Delta from Kasane.

Day 1

Arrive in Victoria Falls + Sunset Cruise

  On arrival, you will be met by the host/hostess from Africa Beast Safaris and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon, you will be picked up for your sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River. You will have the chance to watch hippos, crocodiles and other animals that come down to the river´s edge early in the evening. As the boat is sailing, you will be enjoying drinks and snacks for a period of two hours. After your sunset cruise, you will be transferred back to your hotel. The rest of the evening will be spend on leisure.  Accommodation at Bayethe.

Victoria Falls + Guided Tour of the Falls

 As you finish your breakfast, you will be picked up for a tour of Victoria Falls. You will tour the Zimbabwean side, for there are several spectacular viewing points along the width of the fall. We will walk through the natural, beautiful misty rain forest which flanks the fall from view point 1 to 16. This includes the Main Falls, Horseshoe Falls, Rainbow Falls, the Boiling Pot, Cataract Island and Livingstone Island. The majestic of Victoria Falls is the major tourist attraction named by the Tonga people as Musi O Tunya meaning the ´Smoke that Thunders´.
Optional activities: Flight of angels, high wire activities and elephant riding, etc. Accommodation at Bayethe. 

Day 3

Chobe National Park

 Go on a mid morning game drive with one of the local operators to see the Cats: Lion,, Leopard and other great animals.
You do this early because these operators are radio connected and it is almost 100% sure that they will find the big cats mid morning before it becomes hot.
Return to the lodge by about 1230hrs, have lunch, and relax. You will also have a chance to visit shopping malls.
Go on the afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe River. Depart at 15:00 and return after sunset. Many animals are to be seen on this cruise. There is a cash bar for drinks available on the boat for your own account. Dinner and overnight.  Accommodation at Chobe Safari Lodge.

Day 4

Moremi Game Reserve

 Fly in from Kasane airport and arrive before noon. For your afternoon, you can choose between game drives in an open-sided 4x4 vehicle or a boat cruise. The game drives will take you into Moremi via 3rd bridge, to 2nd bridge - you will cross the river streams a few times. Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Giraffe, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Zebra, Impala, etc. can be seen here.
Enjoy snacks and drinks in the bush at sunset for great photos. Return to accommodation for dinner. Accommodation at Camp Moremi.

Day 5

Moremi Game Reserve

 You will again have the opportunity to do 2 activities into Moremi National Park. You will see lots of animals and have the
opportunity to take your time for very good photos of all animals. You can also opt for a day of leisure at the camp and do only one game drive or boat cruise. 

Day 6

Zambezi Region Namibia

 After an early morning game drive, you will be transferred to Xakanaxa airstrip to depart to Kasane. The flight will arrive at Kasane airport at about 11:00 where your guide will be waiting for you to continue the road trip to Namibia. You will depart to Ngoma border post and enter Namibia. Arrive at your lodge at the banks of the river for lunch. Go on a boat/land
cruise into Bwabwata National Park until sunset. Lots of wildlife to be seen here. Enjoy a sundowner snack/drink in the bush and return to the lodge for dinner. Accommodation at Namushasha River Lodge. 

Day 7

Kavango Namibia

 Drive through the Bwabwata National Park to Divundu at the Kavango river. Arrive by noon. Check-in and do a late afternoon game drive in the Mahango Core area in Bwabwata National Park along the Kavango river until sunset. Return to the lodge for dinner.  Accommodation at Mahangu Safari Lodge.

Day 8

Kavango Namibia

 Do a morning game drive in the Buffalo Core area on the eastern side of the Kavango river after an early breakfast.
Visit the Popa Falls and arrive back at your lodge by noon. Relax. Afternoon game drive in Mahango Core area for wildlife viewing or just relax at the swimming pool. Optional you can book (at your own cost) a fishing trip to catch Tiger Fish. 

Day 9

Etosha National Park

 Depart to Rundu and make a short stop for refreshments at Kavango River Lodge with a view of the river.
Depart to Grootfontein town for lunch.
Visit the Hoba meteorite, about 20 km from Grootfontein. (Biggest meteorite so far found on earth).
Drive via Tsumeb (Copper mines) and visit Lake Oshikoto with a rich history dating back to German colonial times.
Arrive at your lodge 2 km outside Etosha N.P. late afternoon to check-in, relax, dinner and overnight.  Accommodation at Mokuti Lodge.

Day 10

Etosha National Park

 Depart after breakfast to Etosha. Visit Fort Namutoni and surrounding waterholes for wildlife viewing. Drive through the park and visit the Etosha Pan - the big white place. Drive to Halali and enjoy lunch. Check-in and do an afternoon drive to nearby waterholes to see lots of wildlife. Dinner and visit the waterhole next to the camp. Spend the evening here to see elephants and especially Rhino (White and Black) at the waterhole. Also, a good place to see Hyena and Leopard sometimes.  Accommodation at Halali Resort.

Etosha National Park

 Spend the day driving from Halali to Okaukeujo and visit many different waterholes and stop many places for wildlife viewing and photography of wildlife. Arrive by noon in Okaukeujo, check in, and visit the waterhole next to the lodge.
This is one of the best waterholes near a camp in Etosha. Do a late afternoon drive in the park. Have dinner and spend more time at the waterhole during the evening. Waterhole under floodlights.  Accommodation at Okaukuejo Resort.

Day 12

Etosha National Park

 Today you will travel westwards in the park and make many stops on the way to Dolomite Camp. You will arrive at noon at Camp Elephant for lunch. Spend time at the hide on Stiltz to see all kinds of animals close up for great pictures.
Drive to your lodge and make more stops at waterholes for wildlife viewing. Arrive late afternoon to check-in, relax and enjoy dinner. All chalets overlook the plains and a waterhole downhill. Accommodation at Dolomite Resort.

Day 13

Damaraland

 Depart to Kamanjab and visit a Himba village. Drive westwards to Grootberg Lodge. The lodge is situated on top of the "Big Mountain" being part of the Okondeka range. Only 4x4 vehicles can reach the lodge. You have a breathtaking view from the lodge over the lower-lying Klipriver valley and surrounding mountains. Check-in by noon.
Afternoon: Do a guided walk on the rim of the mountain and see wildlife in the area.
(If there are lions in the area on arrival, you will go by vehicle and enjoy a sundowner on top of the mountain. This is optional.)
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.  Accommodation at Grootberg Lodge.

Day 14

Damaraland

 Depart via Palmwag lodge with a scenic road through the mountains and the Huab River Valley to Twyfelfontein.
Arrive by noon. Check-in and visit: world Heritage site & bushmen rock engravings.
Do a short walk at the foot of the mountain with one of the community guides to see hundreds of engravings and to hear the history of the Bushmen who lived here. Visit the Organ Pipe rocks and Burnt Mountain. Visit the "Damara Living Museum". The Damara people will entertain you with historic cultural activities and dances.
Dinner and overnight at the camp.  Accommodation at Mowani Mountain Camp.

Day 15

Swakopmund

 Travel via Uis and past the Brandberg (burning mountain) the highest mountain in Namibia to Henties Bay.
Enjoy lunch in Henties Bay at the hotel with a view over the sea.
Depart to Swakopmund and stop at a shipwreck near the main road.
Arrive in Swakopmund late afternoon to check-in. Visit shopping malls, Cristal Galery, Karakulia weavers, etc.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.  Accommodation at Strand Hotel Swakopmund.

Day 16

Swakopmund

 Today is activity day: you have many activities to choose from including a boat cruise, a flight over the desert with a light airplane to diamond coast to see shipwrecks, a guided quad bike tour into the dunes, and more. Your guide will assist you with choices and bookings and arrange it all. Most activities take place in the morning because the afternoons can be windy and dusty.
All activities including the flight will be for your own account and are not included in the tour price. 

Day 17

Namib Dessert

 Depart via the Namib Desert to the Sossusvlei dunes area. Visit dune 7, Kuiseb river valley, Gaub river valley, and Solitaire.
Enjoy a light lunch at Solitaire restaurant and depart to Sossusvlei. Arrive during the afternoon to check-in. The waterhole next to the lodge attracts Springbok, Oryx, and Ostriches. Many Jackals are also to be seen here. Dinner and overnight.  Accommodation at Sossusvlei Lodge.

Day 18

Namib Desert

 Depart early morning to the dunes. Drive 60 km to Sossusvlei. Make several stops for photos of wildlife, shades on the dunes, and the landscape. Do a walking trail to the "Dead Vlei" and Sossusvlei. Climb surrounding dunes like Big Daddy.
Drive to dune 45 and spend time here to climb and take pictures.
You'll arrive back at the lodge for a late lunch. Shower, relax and drive to the Sesriem Canyon. Do a short walking trail here into the Canyon. Visit Elim Dune late in the afternoon for great photos of the surrounding area with wildlife. You'll be back at the lodge by sunset for dinner and overnight. 

Day 19

Windhoek Namibia

 Depart to Windhoek. Arrive by noon. Check-in and do a city tour during the afternoon.
Visit Parlement and surrounding buildings like Christus Kirche, War Museum, Alte Feste museum, Old German Castles on the mountain, different suburbs, and markets.
Dinner at Joe's Beerhouse with your guide.
There are many other restaurants which you can choose from.  Accommodation at Hotel Thule.

Day 20

Depart to your next destination

 Depart to Windhoek. Arrive by noon. Check-in and do a city tour during the afternoon.
Visit Parlement and surrounding buildings like Christus Kirche, War Museum, Alte Feste museum, Old German Castles on the mountain, different suburbs, and markets.
Dinner at Joe's Beerhouse with your guide.
There are many other restaurants which you can choose from.  No accommodation.
