About this trip

Join Donate Yoga for an unforgettable journey into a holistic 8-limbed approach to yoga that will transform your life and open your heart! Whether you are an aspiring yoga teacher, or a student looking to enhance your yoga practice and simply want to dive deep into this wonderful lifestyle, this is exactly what you've been calling in. Enjoy all your comforts of home and do something amazing during this time of social distancing.

Our primary style of focus is alignment-based Hatha. With this solid foundation and roots, we will explore vinyasa, kundalini, yin/restorative, ashtanga and more! Exposure to several paths and styles of Yoga will allow students to experience what resonates most with them as they develop their own unique class, practice, and voice. All students will receive one-on-one guidance and progress check-ins throughout these 38 days and for those students looking for more structured guidance, they will gain mastery of the "Donate Yoga Essential Sequence," which they can either teach at a studio upon graduation or utilize for their personal practice.

Mark believes in a holistic approach to yoga, utilizing the 8-limbs (Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi) to guide his teacher training, yoga classes, and everyday life. Focusing on Ahimsa (non-harm) Mark ensures that students feel safe and learn proper alignment to avoid injury during asana classes.

The goal is to feel better than before you began and to ensure you can practice tomorrow, next month, and for years to come. The path you will travel on this yoga journey is Hatha-Raja also known as "The Royal or Ashtanga Path" which utilizes the physical yoga (asana) practice to quiet the mind and prepare you for meditation.

This is essential to realize the ultimate goal of yoga which is to unite the body, mind, and soul together; attaining bliss, and Samadhi. There are many different kinds of yoga classes taught in studios today. Mark strives to provide students with proper exposure to a plethora of styles so that students may discover which paths resonate most deeply for them personally.

We will send you the required reading list and the props we recommend you to have.  We will also help you to ensure that your phone or computer can live-stream Zoom.
