About this trip

** If you would like to join us on this trip, please reach out directly, as we can secure a last minute room for you **

Get ready to restore and explore with a week of quietude, reflection and beautiful surroundings. Daily yoga, meditation, and much more are in store for you on this 7 night 6 day retreat.

Join Rachel & Pierce in beautiful Cambodia, for their 3rd retreat in the town of Kampot at Les Manguiers riverside resort.

Kampot is a small fishing and tourist town in the south of Cambodia. You'll enjoy comfortable bungalows, fresh food, and many mango smoothies throughout the week.

Pierce's knowledge from 6 previous trips here will give you valuable insight into the places, experiences, and spirit of the people.

There are many options for those looking to stay active, and many options for those that want to keep things low key. We like doing both and will point you in the right direction and find your retreat balance.

Why should I go???

Because you deserve to spend a tropical week far away from home to focus on regenerating and cultivating more of YOU. This isn't just another vacation, this is an experience that will imprint lasting effects. The trip is about the journey, and how you see yourself and the world after.

Travel enlightens humanity

Yoga makes you whole again

These two things (plus an endless supply of exotic fresh fruit,, sunny days and good people) help change us. And when you see the world, experience other cultures, and truly experience yourself, you can bring that back home with you.

Sample daily schedule

7am yoga class

9am group breakfast

10a-5pm free time / group activity

12-2pm lunch whenever you like

5pm yoga/meditation class

7pm group dinner

(Please know that we try to keep to a schedule, but time in SE Asia is a bit more fluid, and that is part of the retreat experience. We encourage you to go with the flow.)

What to Bring?

What to bring:

• Current Passport (not expiring within 6 months) with empty visa pages and a photocopy for yourself

• A couple passport size photos for immigration (you can do this at Walgreens)

• Crisp $USD - no torn or badly wrinkled bills are accepted

• $30 USD for Visa on Arrival fee. You may also apply for an e-visa before at https://www.evisa.gov.kh/

• Yoga mat and any props you like

• Reusable water bottle

• Bug spray / Sun block

• Hat for sun protection

• Swimsuit

Before You Go Guide

Here is some information to prepare for the trip:

• We encourage you to do some traveling either before or after this trip to explore and experience other parts of SE Asia. Past attendees have used this trip to get their bearings in a new environment and go on to travel more after. Others scheduled some travel before/after. If we can help support you in deciding and planning an extension to this retreat, please reach out.

• Cambodia uses both US dollars and Riel as local currency, so feel free to bring cash with you to use for expenses while there. Make sure they are crisp bills and not torn or wrinkled. ATM’s dispense US dollars but charge a processing fee. Your bank may also charge a fee on top of this, but not all do, so check with your bank. Many places do not take credit cards, so cash will be your friend. The exchange rate for Riel to USD is around 4,000 Riel to $1.00. Make sure to notify your bank(s) and credit card(s) of the countries you plan to travel to in advance of your trip.

• When entering Cambodia (or any of the surrounding countries) mark “tourism” as your purpose of entry.

• If you are coming straight from the airport in Phnom Penh (on the edge of town) to Kampot on Sunday March 3rd, we can arrange a taxi pickup for you. It costs between $40-$50 one way for a car and takes approximately 3 hours. If you will be in Phnom Penh city we can arrange a bus ticket for you (or taxi from your hotel/guesthouse) or you can buy yourself. It is very easy to plan transport once you are there as well. We recommend Giant Ibis, as they are a medium sized bus, stop at a halfway point in the trip for bathroom and snacks and has wifi on board. The trip is around 4 hours and costs $10  - http://giantibis.com/

• The weather is warm, between 70’s and 90’s and it will be the dry season; most likely it will not rain during that time. All accommodations are fan only rooms, and the temperature gets cool in the evening to make sleeping comfortable.

• Cambodians and the language are called Khmer (pronounced - “Ka-My”) - Read more about Cambodia’s history here: http://bit.ly/2qVk0J6

• Cambodia is mainly a Buddhist country but you will see some Muslim villages and sparing Christianity. Read more about Cambodia's religious history here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Cambodia

This was an amazing week. Retreat was well organized, fun and relaxing all at the same time. The location was great, staff was outstanding and the food was so fresh. Thank you again Pierce and Rachel for an introspective, relaxing and meditative week. Was very well done and enjoyed :)

Rachel and Pierce led an amazing retreat. The classes were structured perfectly and i appreciated all the different types of yoga we learned!! They were also great guides to the area. We had a perfect amount of group activities and also solo time. I made amazing new friends, and would love to go on another trip with them.

Pierce and Rachel planned a wonderful, welcoming and wholly safe retreat, with delicious fresh meals every day, thoughtful yoga classes for our energy level throughout the week, and plenty of downtime. Rather than have an overly full agenda every day packed with activities, they simply let us know what was around in the area and we could take part (or not!) in whatever sounded like what we need. Activities included taking a bike or tuk tuk to the town center, exploring a nearby pepper farm, visiting the beach (about 45 min away) or a nearby national park, visiting a women's spa that trains and employs local Khmer women, or just some kayaking on the river. Pierce also offered the option to book 2-hour Thai massages with him, too. The accommodations are very comfortable and relaxing, even given super hot Cambodia climate. The staff and local people are incredibly kind and always able to help you. Lots of amusing, adorable kitties and pups around the grounds of Les Manguiers who love to play. I would note for newcomers that Cambodia is very humble and simple, and patient and understanding mindset will go a long way to making sure you get the most out of this beautiful experience. Just tiny small stuff, like the long drive in can be quite dusty as the roads are very new. There may be small lizards sometimes in your room, for example and of course mosquitos (although the beds have beautiful lacy mosquito nets - use them!). And showering is not like a luxury hotel with high pressure and steamy hot water - although, you may find the river (which is clean and slightly salty, very good for your skin) much more efficient and comfortable for a good soak! That being said, if you've ever been camping or you already love the outdoors, you'll be just fine! This is also a completely accessible retreat for someone new to SE Asia or international travel - we had a few newbies in our group, as well. Absolutely nothing stressful at all here, all your concerns just melt away. I went in expecting just a nice tropical week of relaxing and left being much more in love with Cambodia than I ever expected. would absolutely LOVE to do this trip again and highly recommend Pierce and Rachel as guides!

What a wonderful yoga trip to Cambodia! Rachel and Pierce had a well organized trip with time for exploring between the twice a day yoga. The yoga classes by Rachel and Pierce, of course, was wonderful. I wondered how my free time would be spent but had no trouble filling it with tuk tuk trips out of town, bike trips in town, boat rides and spa visits.. Les Manguiers was a perfect location with cabanas and houses. The food and the Cambodian people there were great.
