“This is the real deal! ” — That what our partners have to say about their dogsledding tours.Our partners on our Women’s Wisconsin Dog Sledding & Snowshoeing Adventure are a woman-owned and operated kennel is comprised of 42 Seppala Siberian Huskies which are direct descendants of Togo and Balto who helped deliver the life saving serum to the children of Nome during the outbreak of Diptheria in 1925.
From start to finish, participants will be involved in all stages of mushing. Every trip begins with participants meeting each dog and learning about them. Then, your guides will teach you how to harness dogs and hook up the teams. Once everyone, and every dog is ready, we head out on some of the most beautiful forested trails in Northern Wisconsin.
Not just a walk in the woods.
Led by a local naturalist and guide, participants on our Women’s Wisconsin Dog Sledding & Snowshoeing Adventure will take on walk into the Northwoods by by snowshoe.
Who should sign up?
The Women’s Wisconsin Dog Sledding & Snowshoeing Adventure is open to women ages 18 and older. Anyone in good health, and who is moderately active can enjoy the activities listed on the itinerary. Dog sledding can be done by nearly anyone, but does require good balance and strength to hold onto a sled being pulled by a team of dogs. Snowshoeing is 3-4 hours, over rolling terrain in the snow at a moderate workout level. Those who are not used to snowshoeing might feel that this is strenuous. Our guide will work with the group’s abilities. Temperatures ranging from the low 30’s to below zero. Windy conditions could create extreme cold depending on wind direction. Please view the packing list below and come prepared to spend time outside in the cold.
Accommodations:
On our Women’s Wisconsin Dog Sledding & Snowshoeing Adventure participants all have single rooms in 2- bedroom cottages with one bathroom or 3-bedroom cottage with 2 bathrooms. Those who would like their own space. may be able to upgrade to a 1-bedroom cottages for a single supplement fee of $300. Please contact us for availbilty. This winter wonderland adventure includes:
Minimum: 6 participants / Maximum: 11 participants
Our lodging is 2-3 Bedroom Cottages at Woodside Cottages in Bayfield. The cottages are heated and fully furnished.
All bedrooms are single occupancy. Those who want a whole cabin to themselves should contact us for availability. There is a $250 single supplement fee.
Triple Cottages:
Each cottage has 3 bedrooms with a queen-size bed in each bedroom, and 2 bathrooms.
Guests: 3 per cottage
Availability: 1 cottage (3 beds)
Double Cottages:
Each cottage has 2 bedrooms with a queen size bed in each bedroom, and 1 bathroom.
Guests: 2 per cottage

Breakfast: Each cabin will be supplied with breakfast supplies (eggs, bacon, yogurt, fresh fruit, dried fruit, instant oatmeal, coffee, creamer, and snacks).
Lunches: 1 lunch is in the field. 1 lunch is from a local restaurant.
Dinners: 3 dinners are included from local restaurants. Participants will pre-order from a menu.
If you have a pack you love to travel with, inquire about a private trip for families, and friends. This trip is suitable for children 13 and older.

For this team, there will be 6 sleds. There are two guide sleds that carry 1 passenger. The other 4 sleds are driven by guests alone. Passengers ride with guides only. Guides take bigger teams to pull this weight. In this group, everyone takes turns riding and driving. In a group of 5, participants can expect to ride as a passenger at least 10-15 mins each trip.
If you are traveling with a friend, be sure you select a spot on the same team.

Arrive at Woodside Cottages between 2 & 4pm to avoid traveling at night in the winter. If weather permits we will sit outside by a campfire and talk about the plans for the following day and socialize. Dinner will be pizza and salad. Participants will dine in individual cabins.
