      About this trip

Switzerland checks off all the boxes of an idyllic mountain vacation. It offers ravishing landscapes of green pastures, hiking trails, views of glacier-encrusted Alps, glittering lake shores, and pea-green vineyards, while the uber-cool Zurich gives it a modern urban edge. Traveling through Switzerland is mapped by castles and craft beer, new-wave restaurants and relaxed waterfront bars with Alpine views, mountain chalets brightened with red geraniums, folk fairs, and the alp-horn concerts, while the celebration of gooey cheese, velvety chocolate, and air-dried meats provide a flavorful culinary background, spiced with the unexpected encounters with modern aesthetics, contemporary art and fresh-faced design. Beyond cheese, chocolate and cuckoo clocks, lies contemporary Switzerland, a land of four languages, once-in-a-lifetime train journeys, heart-racing Alpine pursuits, and tantalizing urban culture.

Wonderful people, small, tight accommodations for double rooms, good food. Tour was very passive and not interactive enough for me. Saw a good portion of Switzerland which was good!

The trip was well planned. I met 16 wonderful women. Our tour guide, Marta Rz., was knowledgeable and inspiring. This was my first trip with Sights & Souls. It didn’t disappoint! Debra L.

It was a great trip. Our trip leader, Marta, was excellent and went above and beyond to take care of us. Hotels, food, and activities were all excellent.

This was my first experience with a travel group and it was wonderful. Our tour director, Eileen Grant, was great and the women in the group made it very enjoyable. I highly recommend going to Scotland, it's beautiful and the Scots are just as friendly.

Before I went on the Poland tour, my friends at home asked "Why would you go to Poland?" The answer now is that it is a beautiful country with lots of history, great food and drinks and lovely people --exactly as I expected! Poland has endured a lot in the past and we should all learn about that. Warsaw and Krakow have the European Old Town vibe and modern amenities without the hordes of tourists and a bit more economical than the rest of Europe. We also saw the beautiful countryside in our trips to the National Parks. Marta, the tour director, was outstanding as always and she gave us many insights into life in Poland. What a better way to spend a Sunday than lunch at Lazienki Palace and a Chopin concert in the Rose Garden! I'm usually not a fan of cooking but our class was a lot of fun, a credit to the two instructors and the tour members who all pitched in to make a great meal. There were more highlights, some sombre, some beautiful, but all in, a very worthwhile and enjoyable trip.
