PRIOR TO YOUR DEPARTURE

FLIGHT

Book your roundtrip flight to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ). Book as early as you can to save money. Please make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond the date of your entry into Tanzania.

VISA

• All U.S citizens/residents entering Tanzania need a tourist visa - Which can be purchased in advance online to make things easier and more convenient.
• You can get a single-entry or multiple-entry (Click here to Apply for E-Visa)
• Please apply within a month of departure to allow yourself enough time to avoid unnecessary delays and/or trip interruptions 

GENERAL INFO

Rooms are double occupancy with 2 beds (unless selected otherwise). If you don't already have a roommate, you will be paired with one. The water pressure might not be what you're used to, BRING POTENT INSECT REPELLENT islands are typically full of mosquitos! All activities and meals are done as a group. If you choose to opt out of an activity or group dinner, you will be responsible for any additional expenses.

FOOD / DRINKS 

We will consume a variety of Tanzanian food. Meals are not provided every day, so you are free to eat other dishes in non-group meal activities. The local cuisine tends to be spicy and consists of a mixture of lentils, rice, and pasta. They do have great vegetarian options as well. Alcoholic drinks are not included. 

WARNING - PHYSICAL  ACTIVITIES 

This tour involves some walking, getting in and out of boats. Please ensure that you are physically able to participate in those activities. 

MONEY/CURRENCY 

Zanzibar utilizes the Tanzanian Shilling( TZS) as its currency. Currently $ 1 USD - 2,497.58 TZS. Many places do not accept credit cards, please bring cash for tips, restaurant expenses, and souvenir shopping. Upon arrival, you can change your USD to the local currency JOD at the Airport.
