We’ll then leave Reykjavik and head east following the route of the Golden Circle. Iceland’s natural wonders route. Our first stop along the way will be Thingvellir National Park.
Thingvellir National Park is the gateway to the Golden Circle, and is home to countless scenic sites such as the rift between the North American and European Tectonic Plates. It is also home to Iceland’s ancient parliament. One of the oldest in the world and established in 930 AD.
Afterwards, we’ll continue east and stop at a Greenhouse Farm that grows Tomatoes using geothermal methods of extracting heat below the earth's surface. Followed by a delicious Tomato soup lunch with geothermal baked bread.
After the Tomato farm, we’ll head inland towards the highly active Geysir Hot Spring Area with its boiling mud pits and spouting hot springs Continuing on to Gullfoss, one of Iceland‘s most powerful waterfalls. Located on Hvítá river, the waterfall is fed by Langjökull glacier and plummets down 100 feet in two stages into a rugged canyon.
Afterwards we’ll visit the mesmerizing Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Seljalandsfoss is renowned for being one of the most scenic waterfalls across the entire western hemisphere. It is also a waterfall from which you can walk behind the cascade.
Finishing our evening in the remote but very scenic UMI Hotel where we’ll spend our night and enjoy a lovely dinner. But hold on !!!! Our night is not finished yet. As we are in the remoteness of Iceland, we will be staying up and enjoying the night views with the possibility of seeing the ever enchanting northern lights before going to bed.

Later, we’ll continue our journey east and finish our afternoon in the Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon. Our hotel will be located in the bewildering remote region of the glaciers. Later we’ll head towards Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon which is on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park. Situated at the head of the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier. The lagoon developed into a lake after the glacier started receding from the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
