Canoe: Paddle Canada Waterfront Skills Clinic (2 hours) This session introduces participants to lake canoe tandem skills. By the end, participants should feel comfortable when performing basic strokes to manoeuvre the canoe where they want it to go in a sheltered environment.

Canoe: Paddle Canada Canoe Basics Clinic (4 hours) This session builds on the skills gained in the Waterfront Skills Clinic. Participants will receive a certification in basic lake canoe tandem skills. This includes knowledge of basic strokes, stability, straight line paddling, pivots and turns and safety when paddling on a calm lake environment.
Prerequisites: None for 4 hour session and PC Waterfront Skills Clinic for 2 hour session.
Canoe: Paddle Canada Lake Intro Skills Course (8 hours)This session builds on the foundational paddling skills and knowledge gained in Canoe Basics. Participants will learn to manoeuvre with more precision and efficiency. The course includes knowledge of introductory land and water-based rescues. At the end of the course, participants will be able to control their craft comfortably, and confidently venture out on short paddling adventures on calm waters.
Prerequisites: PC Canoe Basics Clinic
Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP): Paddle Canada Flatwater 1 SUP Skills (2 hours) This session introduces the novice to paddling a paddleboard in calm sheltered water.

We will meet you at the Rundle Park Paddling Centre for your instruction.
Time:
These programs run on weeknights from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and/or Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm; depending on which program you register in.
Ages:
This program is suitable for anyone ages 10+.
Physical requirements :
You do not need to be water whiz to participate! However, you do need to have adequate mobility. Participants must be comfortable moving on uneven surfaces that may be slippery , be able to help carry their water craft to and from the shore(canoe or SUP), enter/exit and maneuver the water craft. Participants do not need to be advanced swimmers, but should have some swimming experience.
Please bring the following items with you for your adventure!
1. Water clothes
Please bring clothing suitable for being on the water, with the weather forecast in mind!
2. Water shoes
Please wear close-toed shoes that are secured to your feet (no crocs or sandals - we recommend old runners). Note: This is a requirement. Anyone with improper footwear will not be able to participate in the program.
3. Layers
The water and weather can be cold - please bring an extra layer, or rain jacket.
4. Water bottle
Paddling is active! Bring a water bottle so you can stay hydrated!
5. Sun protection
Sunscreen is important on the water!
6. Dry clothes and shoes
Bring a towel and a change of clothes for the end of your session. Being in the water is not mandatory but this is a water sport so you never know if you'll get wet!
To ensure the successful operation of this program, a minimum of 8 participants is required. If fewer than 8 participants are registered one week prior to the scheduled date, participants will have the following options:
Transfer their booking to an alternative date (if available).
Convert their booking into a private session (subject to an additional fee).
Receive a full refund.
