About this trip

Thanks for booking a private raft adventure with HeLa! Our White Water Rafting Program is 2-3 hour trip down the beautiful North Saskatchewan river. The rapids are Class II max, making this a great river for paddlers of all experience levels.

Paddle hard and hold on tight as you plunge through rapids; experience the excitement of surfing and bow-dunking rafts; maybe even hop in for an adventurous swim through some

smaller whitewater.

General Information

Location:

We will meet your group at the National Historic Site Campground, then run the rapids from the Blue Bridge back to the campground.

Time:

This program runs from 12:30pm-3:30pm. It is important to note that the end time of this program may vary depending on the weather, and energy/enthusiasm of the group - if you want to play in the water for a bit longer before we depart, you can! See below for a more specific timeline.

Ages:

This program is suitable for anyone ages 10+.

*If you have younger participants but still want to experience a rafting program, contact us and we can arrange a trip built just for you and your young ones!

Physical requirements :

You do not need to be water whiz to participate! However, you do need to have adequate mobility. Participants must be able to descend a steep set of stairs, walk approximately 500m on a dirt trail, and be comfortable moving on uneven surfaces that may be slippery. Participants do not need to be advanced swimmers, but should have some swimming experience.

Personal Packing List

Please bring the following items with you for your adventure!

1. Water clothes

Please bring a bathing suit to wear underneath, and shorts or rain pants to wear over your wetsuit (wetsuits provided by HeLa).

*The layer on top of the wetsuits helps protect them from damage.

2. Water shoes

Please wear close-toed shoes that are secured to your feet (no crocs or sandals - we recommend old runners). Note: This is a requirement. Anyone with improper footwear will not be able to participate in the program.

3. Layers

The water and weather can be cold - please bring an extra sweater, or rain jacket!

4. Water bottle

Rafting is hard work! Bring an old water bottle that you don't mind getting a bit banged up.

5. Sun protection

Sunscreen is important on the water!

6. Dry clothes and shoes

Bring a towel and a change of clothes for the end of your trip!
