Explore Senja, Andøya, and the Lofoten Islands on a five-night small-group road trip through Northern Norway, traveling from Tromsø to Leknes by van and ferry.

Designed as Part 2 of our 2027 Midnight Sun Marathon trip, this journey follows some of Norway’s most scenic coastal routes. Search for whales on a private RIB safari from Andenes, hike to Ryten for sweeping views over Kvalvika Beach, and explore the fishing villages of Hamnøy, Sakrisøy, Reine, and Å.

Every detail is thoughtfully curated alongside trusted local partners, from waterfront accommodations and included meals to scenic ferry crossings and plenty of time to stop for beaches, viewpoints, and unexpected discoveries.

This isn’t just a Lofoten Islands tour. It’s a chance to experience the wild coast of Northern Norway with an incredible group of travelers.

Morning: Leave Tromsø by van and drive to Brensholmen, where we’ll board a scenic ferry to Botnhamn and begin exploring Senja.

Afternoon: Follow the Senja Scenic Route, stopping at the Bergsbotn viewing platform, Tungeneset’s dramatic coastline, and beautiful Ersfjord Beach. We’ll pause for lunch and leave room for spontaneous viewpoints and photo stops.

Evening: Check in at Hamn i Senja, with time to relax by the water before gathering for a three-course group dinner.

Morning: Enjoy breakfast at Hamn i Senja before driving to Gryllefjord for the scenic ferry crossing to Andenes on the island of Andøya.

Afternoon: Head out on a private RIB safari in search of whales and other Arctic marine life. We’ll also have time to explore Andenes, from its waterfront and lighthouse to the new whale museum.

Evening: Check in at Grønnbuene Rorbu Hotel and gather for dinner by the harbor.

Morning: Depart Andenes and travel south along the Andøya Scenic Route, stopping at Kleivodden viewpoint, Bleik Beach, and other coastal highlights.

Afternoon: Continue through Vesterålen, stopping for lunch before taking the ferry from Melbu to Fiskebøl. From there, we’ll follow the Lofoten Scenic Route toward Ballstad.

Evening: Settle into our shared cabins at Hattvika Lodge, our home for the next three nights, and enjoy dinner and a relaxed evening together.

Morning: After breakfast, set out with a private local guide for the hike to Ryten, with sweeping views over wild Kvalvika Beach. The hike is approximately 4.3 miles round trip with 1,700 feet of elevation gain.

Afternoon: Enjoy a packed lunch and, depending on weather, trail conditions, and group energy, continue down to Kvalvika Beach. We’ll leave time for nearby beaches, villages, and viewpoints after the hike.

Evening: Return to Hattvika Lodge to relax and enjoy dinner together.

Morning: After breakfast, explore the neighboring fishing villages of Hamnøy and Sakrisøy, known for their colorful rorbuer, waterfronts, and dramatic mountain scenery.

Afternoon: Continue to Reine, where guests can choose between the famous Reinebringen hike or a slower-paced afternoon exploring the village. We’ll reunite before traveling to Å, the final village at the end of the E10.

Evening: Return to Hattvika Lodge for our final group dinner and one last evening together in Lofoten.

Enjoy one final breakfast at Hattvika Lodge before checking out and saying goodbye to Lofoten. We’ll make the short drive to Leknes Airport, return our rental vehicles, and continue onward with unforgettable memories from Northern Norway.
