“AN AUTHENTIC SLICE OF REAL THAILAND” and “I CAN’T RECOMMEND JP BOXING HIGHLY ENOUGH.”/ Review by Paul T. - From the moment I arrived, the team went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and truly looked after. They were always accommodating and genuinely cared about every student, no matter their level or goals.
The training itself was magnificent — intense, technical, and deeply rooted in authentic Muay Thai tradition. The trainers are absolute professionals with hearts of gold, and every session felt like a privilege, not just a workout.
What I loved most was how real the whole experience was. JP Boxing sits in a part of Thailand that’s refreshingly untouched by mass tourism — a rare find these days. It’s a true taste of real Thailand and its wonderful people.
If you’re serious about training, growth, or simply immersing yourself in the real Muay Thai culture, JP Boxing is the place to be. I’ll definitely be back.”
Authentic Muay Thai. Wellness. Thai Culture. Real Thailand. Experienced Coaching Team —
Train with Kru Jay and his team, bringing professional fighting experience and high-level athlete coaching backgrounds.
A direct student of legendary Muay Thai champion Samart Payakaroon, with personal attention in a small, supportive environment.
The Journey of Kru Jay — A Fighter Forged by Experience
Kru Jay’s journey is built on passion, discipline, and an unwavering fighting spirit. With extensive experience competing in both Muay Thai and cage fighting in Thailand and internationally, he has dedicated years of his life to testing his limits and proving himself in the ring.
His journey took him to England, where he spent six years training and competing at respected camps, including Saktprasert and Sityodtong. Those six years were more than just a chapter in his fighting career — they were a defining period that shaped his character, strengthened his discipline, and deepened his understanding of combat sports.
After years of competing abroad, Kru Jay returned to Thailand with a wealth of international experience and a renewed purpose: to pass on the knowledge, skills, and fighting spirit he had developed throughout his journey.
Today, as the owner and head coach of JP Boxing & Muay Thai Camp Thailand, he brings that same determination, dedication, and passion to every athlete he trains. His mission goes beyond teaching techniques. He aims to help every student build confidence, overcome challenges, discover their true potential, and develop the mindset of a fighter — both inside and outside the ring.
For Kru Jay, fighting is more than a sport. It is a journey of discipline, resilience, and never giving up
Experience real Thailand beyond the tourist routes — More Than a Training Camp Every day at JP Boxing Gym follows a rhythm that balances hard training with proper recovery. Mornings usually begin with a run — along the river, through the countryside, or once a week up to a sacred temple. Training sessions cover Muay Thai and Western Boxing, with technique work on pads and bags, plus fun CrossFit and functional strength sessions. Afternoons bring a second session, often focused on clinching, sparring drills, or conditioning, always with a cool-down and stretching. The sauna and ice bath are open to you all day, and there's a guided yoga class you can join for an extra fee.
What makes this retreat stand out from a standard gym camp is the cultural and recovery side. You'll learn the Wai Kru / Ram Muay — the ceremonial dance fighters perform before a bout — and hear the history of Muay Thai Boran, the ancient battlefield art. Weekly activities include a run up the red stone steps of the "Red Buddha Run" to a Chinese temple, offering alms to monks at a 700-year-old temple on a Saturday morning, and a group night-market trip. Sundays are a proper day off, when JP and his family take everyone to a favourite local spot — sometimes the ruins of Sukhothai Historical Park, sometimes the White Temple, sometimes a waterfall.
The coaching team is led by Kru Jay, who has trained professional and Olympic-level fighters, but they're just as comfortable with first-timers. The gym itself has a full CrossFit area with free weights, bags, and rings, plus a yoga room. Guests stay in simple private rooms with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning, and there's always someone around to help plan your free time or arrange a motorbike rental.
Phitsanulok itself is worth exploring — it's an old capital with temples, the Nan river running through it, and night markets that come alive after dark. The camp is a short walk from the center, so you can easily head out for a coffee or a wander between sessions. By the end of 3 weeks, most guests say they've improved their Muay Thai, lost weight, made friends, and picked up more than a few Thai phrases. Nestled in the heart of Thailand
