Venue
An exotic abode located on an organic farm, created specially for groups of individuals who wish to come together for a common mission. This is a great refuge for meditation and exploration, the spiritual minded, good food and herb lovers, yogis, artists, teachers, farmers, bikers, family reunions, or just a good place to relax and get away from it all! It’s your prerogative, we’ll leave you alone or smother you with a funky blend of Southern Hospitality and Aloha. Your hosts and neighbors are the good folks at Puna Organics including the lovely Elvira and her husband, the world-infamous organic ginger and turmeric farmer Biker Dude!A portion of the retreat includes five hand-crafted island huts, constructed and dismantled in Bali, then shipped to our farm on the big island of Hawaii and painstakingly reconstructed. The Bali huts are constructed with exotic hardwoods and cedar. Ironwood shakes that form their roofs seem effortlessly suspended in a vented double-tiered architectural wonder that is as beautiful as it is practical. Each hut has its own covered redwood deck that faces the ocean and the sunrise. Covered walkways connect your hut to an open beamed main house with 16-foot ceilings and polished pacific island hardwood floors. Two full kitchens, daybeds, lofts and eclectic furnishings create a cozy aura in the main house.River rocks and cedar adorn double headed rainwater showers in the master baths. A portion of the main house is a large meeting room (perfect for seminars and group study, aerobics, yoga or dinners for up to 30 guests with lots of windows and polished merbau (hard dark wood) floors. The entire structure has over 3000 square feet including the four baths. There is an additional outdoor kitchen connected to the main house where you can cook your meals without distraction. This is sustainable farm life on a single lane paved road in a remote location. A state of the art solar system provides abundant power and a 25,000-gallon rainwater catchment provides your fresh water. Your retreat rests in a manicured fruit orchard and is surrounded by delectable flower and vegetable gardens. Surprisingly we do have telephone service. Quaint Pahoa Town, just six miles away, presents a varied assortment of excellent eateries, a farmers market, a natural foods store, an internet cafe and several small town churches. The ocean you see from your hut is a mere three miles away, with snorkeling, swimming, surf spots, hot ponds and lava flows in close proximity. A must see is the Volcano National Park just 40 minutes away. Your retreat rests on the slopes of the volcano, the edge of the rain forest and well off the beaten path of your average tourist!

GPS COORDINATES:19°26'17.12"N 154°55'18.45"W19.438056 AND -154.921667

Sometimes GPS is off by a driveway or two. Our driveway has a 40 foot shipping container on the right, as soon as you turn into the driveway... can't miss it! We are located 6 miles from Pahoa in the Puna District of the Big Island of Hawaii and rest on the side of the Kilauea Volcano.
Directions From Hilo (ITO)Take Highway 11 south heading towards the town of Volcano.Go about ten or eleven miles on Highway 11 and just before the town of Keaau. You will turn left at the light on to Highway 130 towards Pahoa and Kalapana.Go another ten plus miles and you will see the first turnoff to the town of Pahoa on your right. Stay on the bypass, which is still Highway 130, and you will go around Pahoa. When you reach the other side of Pahoa you go straight through the stoplight towards Kalapana. In about 2.5 miles you will see a green “Scenic point” sign on the right followed by a small green 15 mile marker sign, followed by a green sign on the right that says “Opihikao”. Turn left here. (At night the turn is marked by a lone street lamp).Go down hill for two miles and you will see our driveway on the right marked by a sign that reads "Elvira."Come straight down the drive and our house is the tall house on the left!
Directions From Kona (KOA)The fastest way here is over the newly improved Saddle Road, however at night you could run into a little fog. The northern route takes you through Waimea and scenic drive along the coast. The southern route takes you by the turtles at Punalu’u Black Sand Beach and on up by the Volcano National Park.
