Day 1
Pick up from Maun to the Channels of the Delta

In the early morning we pick you up at your lodge, campsite or Airport in Maun. The tour starts around 07:30h with a 1h speedboat cruise to the Buffalo Fence. Because of dry season or other circumstances we might drive you in a 4×4 vehicle. At the buffalo fence you meet your poler, who will take you on an unforgettable journey through the channels of the Okavango. Born and raised in the Okavango Delta, our polers and guides show you their home which they are very passionate and knowledgeable about. Our experienced polers take you on a journey deep in the water system. Enjoy the peace of the delta in a Mokoro, the traditional one tree-canoe. In camp on an island our team awaits you with lunch. After your meal you can freshen up before your guide takes you on an afternoon nature walk where we hope to see more animals and learn about the delta its plants, animals and the tribes living here. For dinner we return to camp. In the evening you sit around the campfire sharing the stories of the day.

Exploring the Islands of the Delta

Spend the whole day deep inside the Okavango. Explore the channels by Mokoro (traditional Dug Out Canoe) and go on guided bushwalks and game walks with an experienced guide on the islands of the Okavango Delta. You are woken up with a warm “Dumela“ (setswana = Hello) and a light breakfast waiting for you. After coffee, tea and breakfast you go on your first game viewing activity (either a nature walk or a canoe excursion). When returning to camp you have the opportunity to shower. Afterwards you will be served brunch. In the afternoon you enjoy a second game viewing activity. Enjoy delicious meals cooked over the bushfire by our experienced bush chef and share the experiences of the day in the evening sitting around the bushfire before falling asleep in your comfortable tent with the noises of animals and the bush around you.

Leaving the Okavango Delta
Enjoy a last dugout canoe tour and a last bush walk before heading back to town. For lunch you will rest by the riverside. Before sunset you will be back in Maun. This is the best way of exploring the Okavango Delta!

Our time with Liberty was amazing, excellently organized and unforgettable! • We had a great contact before, during and even after our trip, so we always felt taken care of and could write to Liberty with any question or problem we had. Moreover, we spoke also about other activities and we can surely say that Liberty can help with organising any trip in Zimbabwe and beyond. • Liberty went to great lengths to tailor our trip to fit our needs and budget, which we really appreciate. He was a true professional, open to our suggestions and offering helpful tips to improve our trip. He knows great places to stay at and has contacts with one of the best guides for safari excursions, so each day was an amazing experience. • We were always informed about timings, prices and any details of upcoming trips. Everything was included in the prices we agreed beforehand and we can safely say they were more than competitive in comparison to other operators (excellent value for money) • We felt safe driving with Liberty and he always showed up on time, with clean car and some refreshments/snacks for the trip • Professional aspect aside, Liberty is a lovely guy, we had a great time together and a lot of laughs. During our travelling he provided us with a lot of knowledge about the country, culture, current situation etc. And to finish up – Zimbabwe is an incredible travel destination.
