📍 DAY 1 – ALICE SPRINGS → KINGS CANYON

🕖 Morning pick-up from your Alice Springs accommodation

Today we leave Alice Springs and travel deep into the landscapes of Central Australia, crossing ancient river systems, red sand dunes, cattle stations and remote desert country.

The route is selected according to the number of guests, vehicle requirements, weather and road conditions.

🛻 PRIVATE 4WD EXPERIENCE – GROUPS OF UP TO 3 GUESTS

For groups of up to three people, we can travel through a more remote and adventurous 4WD route.

🏜️ Rainbow Valley

Discover one of Central Australia’s most colourful sandstone landscapes. The cliffs are particularly impressive in the morning light, when their bands of red, orange, yellow and white become visible.

🛣️ Giles Road 4WD Experience

Travel along remote Outback roads away from the regular tourist circuit. Conditions vary throughout the year, and the final route is always selected by your guide according to safety and accessibility.

☄️ Henbury Meteorites Conservation Reserve

Walk among ancient meteorite craters created thousands of years ago when fragments of a meteorite struck the Central Australian desert.

📸 Enjoy remote landscapes, wildlife sightings and personalised photography stops along the way.

🚐 COMFORTABLE HIGHWAY EXPERIENCE – GROUPS OF MORE THAN 3 GUESTS

Larger groups travel in a spacious and comfortable air-conditioned vehicle along the Stuart and Lasseter Highways.

🛑 Erldunda Roadhouse

Stop at the famous Erldunda Roadhouse, located near the geographical centre of Australia.

🏜️ Red Sand Dune Experience

Enjoy a special stop among the Central Australian sand dunes, with time for a short walk, photographs and panoramic views over the desert.

🛣️ Continue through cattle-station country towards Kings Canyon.

🏞️ OPTIONAL WINTER AFTERNOON – KINGS CANYON RIM WALK

During the cooler winter months, and depending on arrival time, daylight, weather conditions and guest fitness, the Kings Canyon Rim Walk may be completed during the afternoon.

A spectacular Grade 4 walk of approximately three to four hours, featuring:

  • The dramatic canyon cliffs

  • The Lost City sandstone domes

  • The Garden of Eden

  • Panoramic views across Watarrka National Park

✅ Easier alternatives include the Kings Creek Walk or a scenic lookout experience.

🏨 Overnight: Kings Creek Station or Kings Canyon area

✨ Standard accommodation may include an air-conditioned permanent tent with twin beds and shared external bathroom facilities.

Accommodation upgrades are available at an additional cost.

📍 DAY 2 – KINGS CANYON → ULURU

🏞️ MORNING – KINGS CANYON WALK OPTIONS

☀️ SUMMER PROGRAM

During the warmer months, the Kings Canyon Rim Walk begins very early in the morning to avoid the hottest part of the day.

🥾 Kings Canyon Rim Walk

Grade 4, approximately three to four hours.

Experience towering sandstone walls, ancient geological formations, desert vegetation and extraordinary panoramic views.

✅ Alternative options include:

  • Kings Creek Walk

  • Kathleen Springs Walk

  • Scenic canyon lookouts

  • Relaxed station experience

The Rim Walk may close during periods of extreme heat. Your guide will select the safest available option.

❄️ WINTER PROGRAM

When the Rim Walk has already been completed on Day 1, the morning can begin at a more relaxed pace.

Guests may enjoy the Kings Creek Walk, Kathleen Springs, a scenic station stop or additional time exploring the Kings Canyon region.

🚙 DRIVE TO ULURU

After leaving Kings Canyon, we travel through the vast desert landscapes of the Red Centre towards Yulara and Uluru.

📸 Mount Conner Lookout

Stop to admire Mount Conner, an impressive flat-topped mountain often mistaken for Uluru and sometimes called “Fool-uru.”

🧂 Salt Lake Views

See the white salt-lake landscapes associated with the Lake Amadeus region.

🐪 Depending on timing and route conditions, lunch may be enjoyed at a camel farm, roadhouse or station-style location.

Arrive at Uluru and begin exploring one of Australia’s most culturally significant and recognisable landscapes.

👣 Walks and cultural stops are adjusted according to arrival time and guest fitness.

Travel to Kata Tjuta, also known as the Olgas, a spectacular formation of 36 enormous sandstone domes rising from the surrounding desert.

Choose the most suitable experience according to fitness, weather and flight time.

A scenic walk between two towering Kata Tjuta domes.

The trail follows a rocky desert creek and offers impressive views of the surrounding cliffs and native vegetation.

🥾 VALLEY OF THE WINDS

A longer and more demanding walk through the heart of Kata Tjuta.

This experience requires strong fitness and may be restricted or closed during periods of high temperatures.

👀 KATA TJUTA DUNE VIEWING AREA

An easier option offering panoramic views of the domes and surrounding desert.

This option is ideal for guests with limited mobility or an early flight departure.

🪨 RETURN TO ULURU

After Kata Tjuta, return to Uluru to complete any cultural stops or walks not visited on Day 2.

Routes and activities may change according to weather, road closures, temperatures, park regulations, flight schedules and guest fitness.

The Kings Canyon Rim Walk is physically demanding and may close during periods of extreme heat.

The remote Rainbow Valley, Giles Road and Henbury Meteorites route is normally available only for groups of up to three guests travelling in the appropriate 4WD vehicle.

Safety is always the first priority, and your guide will select the most suitable route and walking program.
