About this trip
Imagine yourself furthering your yoga training in the jungles and on the beaches of the Dominican Republic. Experience our world-class yoga methodology reboot in an unparralled setting, with fire and cacao ceremonies, zip-lining, hiking to waterfalls and MUCH, much more.
This program includes our full training, with hands on assisting, Warrior Goddess training, meditation, asana, philosophy, alignment, anatomy, leadership development and much more. Additionally, we will be training several local villagers and working on a project to leave behind a lasting legacy and impact in the local community.
As a 200 Hour and 300 Hour Yoga Alliance approved school, DDY offers world class training in a supportive learning environment. Practice. Lead. Teach. will give you the tools, confidence and skill to teach an effective and inspiring power vinyasa yoga class in the tradition of Baron Baptiste.

- 100 Hours of CEUsDDY is a Yoga Alliance Approved RYS-200® and RYS-300® school. We offer world class teacher trainings in unparalleled settings.
- Lodging for 14 nightsChoose single, double or quadruple occupancy for 14 nights at the magical Dominican Tree House Village in the jungles of the DR!
- MealsAll meals included. Dinner on welcome day, breakfast lunch and dinner throughout program, and breakfast on departure date. Dietary needs welcome.

- Excursions on days offChoose to book an excursion early at the discounted price of $100, tips not included. 20% is a good rate for tipping your guides.

A beautiful week of yoga, rituals, and activities centered around the chakras. Shelley and Sam provided a warm welcome, inclusive space, and incredible yoga teaching that made this such a wonderful week. The Yoga Life Villa was a gorgeous, luxe location with amazing staff and delicious food. I loved every minute of this experience.

This was my first DDY travels trip and honestly I can't wait to book another already. Everything was well thought out and planned for us. All I had to do was show up and be ready to have fun, and practice yoga in a BEAUTIFUL villa. Sam & Shelley knocked this one out of the park. <3

This was my THIRD retreat with DDY and it was MAGICAL. The venue was amazing, the excursions were fun and paced out well, there was also plenty of time to relax and do things independently, and it was the most beautiful setting I'd ever done yoga in. I'll remember the friends I made forever and definitely feel like I left a piece of my heart there <3 Also, Shelley is a phenomenal host and is a wealth of knowledge in yoga and international travel- she makes you feel confident and supported for sure.

The trip was very well curated with good balance of activity and leisure. The only thing that was missing was a visit to a goat farm…Maybe next time🤷🏽♀️?
Amorgos is lovely island, that is only mildly tricky to get to, but serene once you’re there. I highly recommend taking to opportunity to join Shelley on her next Gretian adventure.
When you’re there…definitely indulge in some extra Amorgian cheese on the Greek salads.

I was fortunate enough to complete my YTT at the Dominican Tree House Village in El Valle, Samana. I am so thankful for Shelley and being able to share my yoga story. Shelley is a woman of many virtues but my favorite is her being able to hold space for diverse populations in yoga (BIPOC/LGBTQIA+). I was supported during my learning journey, and encouraged throughout my training to continue to create space for other individuals like myself. Our training was well organized, detail oriented, knowledgeable, and a healthy balance between learning, resting, and adventure! I was paired with the best roommate and suite mates ever! I am terrified of being in the jungle but knowing I was there with three other women, made it so worth while. Finally, Emma made the most amazing Dominican cuisine for us daily and the Tree House Staff were so hospitable. I would absolutely go on another training/retreat with Shelley and the crew!

What an amazing trip! This was my second DDY retreat and I will be back for more! The resort was beautiful, with a yoga Shala that looked out over the ocean and has a jungle backdrop! And on top of that, the food was amazing! The variety of both included and optional activities where amazing, in addition to the twice daily yoga. My personal favs were the sound healing, and the Mayan clay ceremony. The fellow retreaters where also amazing and really made it a trip to remember! Can’t wait for the next retreat!
