Rio de Janeiro · Ilha Grande · Paraty
Brazil doesn't reveal itself in one register either. It moves — from the roar of Rio's icons and its Carioca street culture, to the car-free jungle stillness of Ilha Grande, and finally into the quiet cobbled streets of a colonial town built for slowing down.
From the samba schools and capoeira circles of Rio's real neighbourhoods, past the ruins of a former prison colony reclaimed by rainforest, to the artisanal cachaça stills of Paraty — this is Brazil beyond Copacabana.
This journey follows that arc deliberately: five nights in Rio, three nights on the island, and one night in Paraty — never rushing what deserves time. Private guides, a real escola de samba, a fisherman-only beach, and a farewell toast in a 300-year-old townhouse before the journey ends.
Never more than 15 people: big enough to be social, small enough to actually connect
