Purpose of Retreat - Enjoy concentrated time of learning, relaxing and growth in a fun-filled environment to jump start you on the path of expanding your journey as an author and helping to advance the mission of 31 Ways of Influence. (See photo gallery)
Group Size - This is a small group of 8-12 women. You will have plenty of time to interact and get to know each other.
Retreat Times - The retreat begins at 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 15 and ends at NOON on Monday, August 17. It is a two (2) night all-inclusive retreat. Registration is from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM on Saturday, August 15 and the Welcome Lunch will begin promptly at 12:30 PM.
Attire/Packing List - Dress is casual and comfortable. The temperature varies inside, so it is a good idea to bring layers (sweater or shawl). For movement, have clothes that you can move easily in, and bring comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen and a hat. You may want to pack a swimming suit and workout gear if you desire to enjoy the pool or fitness center.
Photos/Videos - There will be pictures, a group photo, and/or video captured, which will require signature release from each participant prior to entry into the session. Being a part of videos or photos is not required to participate in the retreat. It is completely OPTIONAL. Personal videos and photos are not permitted during the training sessions.
By taking part in this event you grant the event organizers full rights to use the images resulting from the photography/video filming, and any reproductions or adaptations of the images for fundraising, publicity or other purposes to help achieve the group’s aims. This might include (but is not limited to), the right to use them in their printed and online publicity, social media, press releases and funding applications. If you do not wish to be photographed please inform an event organizer.
What Will Happen - The time we spend together will be highly interactive and engaging. You will be participating in activities in pairs or small groups that will be guided by our facilitators. We will be talking and sharing experiences, and doing different fun exercises, including simple dance. You will use expressive means to process thoughts through writing, movement,and group activities such as role play.
Participation - All participation during the sessions is voluntary and there is no judgement.
Food - All meals and snacks are included in the price of the registration. The food is delicious and healthy and plentiful. Meals will include a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with continuous snacks and beverages. Vegetarian and other dietary options are available, and you can let us know if you have any special dietary restrictions upon registration.
Mobility - The facility is disability accessible. Please let us know upon registration if you have any concerns or needs in this area.
Free Time - The weekend is designed to be relaxing and fun, as well as a time of restoration and growth. During the breaks, you can spend time alone meditating or writing, or you can get acquainted with new friends, ride a bike, take a walk, take a dip in the pool, workout in the gym, enjoy a spa treatment,, browse the vendor tables, or go back to your room and take a nap! The choice is yours!
Other Availability Activities - Ride throughout the grounds on a golf cart or bike, play tennis, enjoy indoor fitness center and pool, and explore the walking trails.
