Become a certified scuba diver with the SSI Open Water Diver Course at Ocean Tribe in Diani Beach, Kenya. This 3-day course is your ticket to dive anywhere in the world — down to 18 meters, with a buddy, without needing a professional guide. You’ll learn dive theory, master key skills in the pool, and complete four open water dives on our vibrant coral reefs. Along the way, explore Kenya’s Indian Ocean coast and encounter sea turtles, pufferfish, reef sharks, clownfish, and eagle rays in their natural habitat. No experience needed — just bring your spirit of adventure!

We’re based right on the beach in Alliance Safari Beach Hotel. Our dive sites are just minutes away by boat and boast clear waters, coral gardens, and abundant sea life.
Prerequisites
- Minimum age 10
- Able to swim
- Diver medically fit to dive

08:00 – Meet at Ocean Tribe
08:30 – Boat trip and Dive 1 at a shallow coral reef
10:00 – Surface interval with refreshments on the boat
11:00 – Dive 2 on a different reef, exploring colourful marine life
12:30 – Return to shore, debrief, and receive your Basic Diver recognition

Ocean Dives (Day 2)
More diving and certification
