Afterward, if you are participating in the Cusco extension, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco, the gateway to the Andes and Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, settle into your hotel for an overnight stay and begin adjusting to the high altitude. To ease the transition, we recommend taking it slow, enjoying light meals, and trying a traditional cup of coca tea—a local remedy that helps visitors acclimate comfortably.
