On Day 1 of your Tanzanian safari adventure, you will begin by having breakfast at your accommodation in either Arusha or Moshi. Afterward, you will set off on a journey to the nearby Arusha National Park. This park is renowned for its diverse wildlife, stunning landscapes, and proximity to major towns.
Upon entering the park, you will embark on a thrilling game drive that will take you through some of the park’s most iconic landmarks. One such landmark is the Momella Lakes, which are famous for their serene beauty and abundant birdlime. Another highlight is the Ngurdoto Crater, also known as “Little Ngorongoro,” which offers excellent opportunities for spotting various wildlife species within its enclosed ecosystem.
During your game drive, you will also visit the famous Fig tree (Ficus thonningii), whose massive roots have grown to form an arch large enough for a safari vehicle to pass underneath. This natural wonder provides an excellent photo opportunity for you to capture and remember your experience.
As the day progresses, you will stop at a picnic site within the park where you will enjoy your lunch. Afterward, you will continue your game drive until approximately 4 PM, when you will begin your journey back to Arusha. Upon arriving in Arusha, you will check into your hotel for the night, allowing you to rest and reflect on your incredible first day of safari adventures.
